There is a reason for it to be around. It's to level the playingfield some between joystick and mouse users as it's easy to aim dead centre with a mouse, but less so with joystick, so the auto-aim makes it possible for the joystick to still hit if almost on target.


Personally so would I prefeer it to be gone, but the only way for that to happen would be if joystick users in mass (incl RU) claims that they don't need it.

Isn't the other way round, surely it's mousers who need the help?  Or gamepad users but shouldn't they just wait for the Xbox version.

Can we FOR ONCE stop this whole "Gamepad users are retarded and need aiming assist" discussion?

This is not a freaking shooter, this is an Arcade Plane game, so no rocket science degree is needed to get used to the controls ingame.

I am playing only with a different key layout, nothing else customized... And when you look at my stats, I dont think that they are too bad for that, so it might be not necessary to "buff" gamepad controls....

WG...fixing stuff that isn´t broken since 2011! :trollface:

I play with joystick and before all this crap i had 15% Hit rate. It could be more complicated but if people learn how it's not so difficult. Still auto aim itself is the wrong way to increase accuracy because it will become World of Bullets(or rather said it has become since 0.5.3 around)

I like it when people are proclaiming that " all is as it was 0.5.2, it was bugged, now fixed" without even looking at the screens, or testing the matter personally :D
Kinda makes this whole thread redundant, as all is well.

TBH I think the autoaim is not the big issue anymore. My hit ratios seem to have returned to normal values.

For me the brutal balance problems, and the new damage model that ends battles in 2 mins are the biggest issues.

The margin of difference between BnZ planes and TnB planes is just too great. And the playerbase is not stupid, everyone is starting to play HF whilst light fighters get pushed to the side where GAA has been sitting for a long time now.

The general gameplay in WoWP has now been reduced to a series of passes and forced head ons in which those with better guns/HP win.

This is not interesting to me. Nor would I label this as a flight game...

I don't know what to think about the auto-aim thing. Yesterday all my games was "pre-5.3" fine. Either with GAA or with the fighters. Today I was mostly an one-shot to everyone with everything. I'm confused.

Well guys,
about auto aim: I´ve seen quite a few pics now showing deviation of bullets.
BUT: NOT a lot damage dealt by any of those. All of the enemy aircraft shown are still in full health.
So actually i´d be curious, how much time it would take to "hit" the enemy
by aiming next to it to take him out.
My suspicion at the moment is: Forever
At the moment it rather feels like a graphic´s bug than an actual help to aim.
+1 for Anu, seen battles with 12 HF each side...

Had you actually bothered to test yourself (takes about 1-3 minutes) you would have noticed that the -60 that's is shown on my 262 screen happens in a second, so if your definition of "forever" is dps of 60, then yes, you are completely correct. And with a Bf-110b you can kill a AO-192 with a single pass. Just with the bending part.

Noticed that there is still a large difference between the amount of damage you can do to an opponent in one game or another. Some games it just seems you can hardly do damage even when fully aimed, in others it's just like you blow them out of the sky.

Yesterday I had in my Ao 192 a Head-on encounter with another Ao 192. Hate it when it happens, but it seems to be common practice these days.
My Ao 192 is fully packed with a 3 skill crew and everything on it, Equipment, Armour piercing ammo.
We start shooting and I end up dead and the opponent has more than half of it's hitpoints left.
Didn't notice any module or wing damage on my plane, my Hitpoints just diminished.

I hope you enjoy your "competitive" game where you have auto-aim from 1600m+, i know i cant, but that should not spoil it for the rest.

I'm still on the lookout for a fighter player who never ground attacks (not even in GAA aircraft) that has a higher hitrate than me both in CBT and OB, and I am a joystick player, and I am resented by the built-in aimbot. There is no PC game in the whole wide world, except for some GTA's, that have a built-in aimbot, and definately no shooter MMO's out of all things.

The simple and best solution by far, is disabling built-in aimbot, and allow us to set our bullet convergence distance instead..

Those that say that bullets apparantly deviated before 0532 are just shouting blindly from the roofs, this is an utter lie. I've trained my aim for months by constantly adjusting my aim not fixated on the lead point, but fixated on my bullet's tracers and the enemy object I was shooting at. In fact I have played for months with the lead point disabled, so this is the only way you cán aim without the lead point (and much more accurately so) and never did I see any of my hundreds of thousands of bullets in that timeframe deviate towards a target no matter the range or calibre.

This has to go again, simple as that.
