Its ironic that WGs run events over the weekend and it causes a surge of morons to participate! For everyone they "buy" two good guys leave!

Gotta love those games (and it's normally 50% of the time) where you spend half the battle running around the map with 3 guys on your tail after your team failed epically >.< then 4 minutes later the rest of their team join in until they win on supremacy :P

TBH, i've started flying straight at friendlies if i have someone on my tail, in the vain hope that the enemies will ignore me and go for the friendlies who are going head-on to them...

I may try this tactic but fully expect to end up getting rammed or shot head on by my own team

My favorite scenario in lower tier games is when you have worked long hard for a firing solution on an opponent and are just about to pull the trigger and boom... A swarm of kill hungry teammates ram/shoot through you, deep breath, "new balls" as we say in 633 squadron and on to the next game.

I laughed in sympathy from experience to all the posts above.

Is it just me who thinks this or is it really true that tier5 and 6 are populated by the brain dead at the moment?

Just had a game were the FW190-A5 managed to ram our IL in the first second, so two were out already, then 3 others decided to basecamp, our heavies decided to go bombing and I was facing the whole opposite team with just 4 others, needless to say we got creamed.

That's the reason why my planes stay grounded during these specials. The amount of fail is simply unbearable.

"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush his achievement and remove all record of his very existence. From that defeat there is no recovery. That is the meaning of victory."

Hilarious yet frighteningly realistic! :amazed:

As a clearly-marked WG employee in-game, I feel a need to hold back on some of the comments I want to make sometimes, about some of the crazy things I've seen happening in battles.

If you see me type "..." then you know I wish I could say more, but am holding back.  :veryhappy:

Attention all Ground Attack Aircraft

If your whole team goes one way you simply have to go the other. This means there will be nobody about to steal your targets and you can take your time and your pick of what to attack next. You will be perfectly safe and survive to live to a ripe old age.

Lol

ThrowingTracks, you forgot sth:

And if the other team comes to you (flying all alone) with three aircraft to take you out, you should shout "UNFAIR BUMM BUMM DUMMIES"

or if you´re a bit more clever, insult your teammates for not helping you when you need it the most cause it certainly enough was THEIR fault.

I have only been playing a short time and I have already decided that making a comment is just going to make matters worse. So now I just do the obligitory -_- if something untoward happens that takes me out.

What I can say though for sure is that some players seem to think they own the sky and will tool around constantly attempting to "ace" the mission without any backup. I have lost count of the times two or three aircraft ignore the team asking to group up and just fly off in random directions solo and subsequently die to enemy groups. I don't mind losing or even getting shot down. What I do mind is team mates who berate others for their own failings, claim superiority at the game by calling everyone "noob" when they in fact cause the problem in the first place.

To give an example; Last night I was on a targets 6 and had him "locked up" for the kill. A team member was off my starboard quarter with some room to spare, and was also shooting at the target. He got the kill (which I do not mind at all) but as I was on the port side I banked that way to break off while maintaining my remaining energy ( ie shallow turn). My so called team mate had instead decided to accelerate right at the target as it was about to explode and then banked extremely late to starboard. At this point the game physics dictated that his plane arced right in to mines, since the excess energy he had increased his turn arc right in to my aircraft as he had maintained a converging course. We bounced off one another but his momentum carried him on through my aircraft destroying it, and reducing his to approx 10% hp. He then called me "noob" and said I banked in to him. Clearly someone who doesn't understand flight physics, momentum or energy combat and caused a TK yet I am the noob? And this is just one example, I have many more in only a few days of play. You may think I am "noob" due to my lack of playtime but "this ain't my first rodeo" as the saying goes. I've played a LOT of full physics flight games and was even a member of a gaming wing with fast jets in another title. My counterparts had the confidence to know I wasn't a nutter and they could fly right off my wing within inches of me with no problems. Hell we could overlap wings/invert and get uber close, close enough to read the others dials in the cockpit. So why my actual playtime in WoWP might be low, my skill level is well above "average" and certainly not "noob-style"

Unfortunately in general these days, some players are extremely toxic and have a god complex. They can do no wrong, and everyone else is the problem. The best way to deal with them is to ignore them completely.
