What is it? Now after patch it is even slower than it used to be, it's like 480 top speed at optimum altitude without boost that ain't good either. I use 12.7mm MGs and the 37mm cannon, if you put more armament it slows down even more. If you don't use 37mm or 20mm + 23mm you are super slow. 37 mm is alright (45mm is useless) but still feels like it needs better punch, as currently it has nothing going for it.

It's slow, can't out maneuver other low altitude aircrafts, can't out run anyone, does not really have any firepower. I mean it's so damn useless especially after the 1.2 patch when top speeds were lowered.

Feels like the Yak-9U was forgotten when making these changes. It was THE fastest military production aircraft of it's time when introduced, does not feel like it, now it's so slow especially at tier 7. It's 37 mm gun sound is bugged, RoF sounds like SH-37 even though it's much faster etc. Also it does hardly any damage it should be nearly as damaging as Yak-9 37mm with greater RoF that at least would give the plane something. Along with higher cruising speed.

The forgotten fighter of WoWP, IMO.

purposes, IMHO

first, to get the yak-15, another one is to have a lot of fun, once when you discover the right way to use that 45 mm gun. two words. patience and stalking. and patience again :-),  when you get the chosen target on your sight. and then, enjoy fireworks and great balls of fire. that one shot kill is priceless. ok, I'm writing this, because I find joy in that kind of game ...

What is this crazy talk!?!?! The Yak-9U is a really cool plane. It's not terribly slow

and it has 15 boost. But most important, the 45mm gun is  far from useless! It takes a

lot of discipline to wait for the enemy to get closer and not to shoot from a kilometer away.

But together with the two 20mm cannons, you can vaporize any plane, that gets close enough.

You can also rip apart any tier 7 GAA plane without your guns overheating. Learn to play the plane with

45 mm cannons, otherwise it's no use!

How did you get through the Yak-9?  Another cool plane, but you have to have the discipline, to wait for the right moment.

Yak-9 is faster and 45mm is one shot wonder at tier 6, thought definitely not at tier 7. At tier 7 you are sitting duck, I can play the game and the plane. It just has no purpose gameplay wise, it just hinders the team. Yak-3 does everything better except firepower, though if you want firepower you can just fly the 190D.

So you are advising me doing head ons against 109Zs? Alright...

I hope you all do head ons against my 190D in the future.

swell, I advise you to play your own game, and enjoy it. it doesn't have to be YAk-9U. there are planes that I don't like and probably, will never fly with them constantly. that doesn' t mean that they are bad planes for some other guys ...

greeatings a see you up there ...

This plane sucks big time..... Flys low, it is clumsy, and such as it is  sitting duck fo german planes, .....piece of expensive junk.....exactly frustration is right word for it.

Feels like Ill without armor.... on the other hand  it is good on Head on attack....and for  puting down Ill 8
