It doesn't say how many people can win in this contest, it just says "The best ones". Does this mean that there is no limit to how many people can win, just that you will announce the winners as people who you think wrote a worthy Haiku? I'd at least like to know my chances considering that many people have created their own Haiku and this seems to be the only way I'll ever get into the GAT.

How about finishing off one contest before you start another one.
Just a thought.

Will the Team evaluate haiku every day or they'll check them at once after the contest ends ?

I have two questions if anyone wouldn't mind answering:
1)Why are alpha testers posting if the prizes are invites? I mean, aren't they already in the alpha? I sure hope they are posting just for fun or trying to troll people like me giving us heart attacks thinking they might win!
2)Why are a lot of people posting so many haikus? I mean from what I read it doesn't mention anything of multiple haikus. I mean "Compose the most eloquent haiku..."; it doesn't say haikus. So what happens with people that posted more? Are all of them considered available entries, are they disqualified, only the first one is chosen, only the best one is chosen? I think it's unfair if you don't take in account only the first one. Lets say some random guy makes 10 haikus, and let's say he nailed it with the sixth one, why give him so many chances? Only the first one should be taken into account to make it fair, because disqualifying wouldn't be nice, but still!
I hope nobody gets bothered by my questions, but they are somewhat important. Thanks to anyone with relevant answers.
Regards, Cozmin!

I'm one of the guys with multiple haikus and, as I mentioned in my contest post, I started with just two. I had two initially because the theme was to be WoWp and/or Global Alpha Test and I just couldn't get both phrases into the same haiku
The rest of my stuff came by because I had so much fun making them up but I did mention which one(s) should be rated if WG feels like there should be a limit.
From my point of view there shouldn't be too much difference between someone writing 10 haikus and picking the best one for the contest thread and someone writing 10 and entering them all to contest thread with WG Community Team doing the picking of the best... more haikus to read is more entertaining though, at least for me.
Good question anyway and some sort of clarification on the rules on this part would be welcome, the sooner the better so anyone with multiple entries can decide which one to use before deadline?
Not too worried if we don't get a clarification though, since this contest shouldn't be too serious... arcade poetry instead of full realism simulator poetry?
I'm sure WG team can take these worries into consideration even without specific rules, and vague rules can even give them more leeway in how to give prizes (the number of which hasn't been defined either) like they did with the previous contest: everyone participating got in GAT even if they weren't in top 3.

Tomorrow's the day. Hope I get through or that they do something similar to the artistic contest where they let everyone through. If not then I guess it's another few months of waiting.

They'll probably need to count all the syllables and make some serious judging (e.g. toss the coin) in order to make the results. Be patient!
P.S.: I was suspecting that all the toon contestants would get the invite because of the amount of work and dedication they needed to show when they made their works. I am not sure the situation is the same with haikus, but I sure wish it to everyone who participated!

If the toon contest ending date and when the winners where announced are any indication on when they may or may not have the winners posted, possibly a week. Hopefully it wont take that long, but if it does I am told that patience is a virtue...

it took a week for the toon contest ? well surtely this will take less time . poems are much easier to judge than art arent they ?
and patience .. not my thing , i check the forum and site very 30 minutes looking for something
