SO it uses an idiotic amount of more or less light machine guns instead of a few heavy ones, cool :)

well 7.62 is right about a modern squad-based light machinegun ( the M-60 for instance)
This plane dealt with infantry mostly , and aginst infantry the size of the bullet doesnt really matter .So more small bullets are better Vs few big ones against infantry
or other lightly armoured aircraft for instance

Well yea but if you think about it small boms are even better and why need a GAP when you could just use a normal fighter XD

because small boms were more expensive and actualy less effective they killed some and wounded alot machine guns also prevented you hitting allies (ofcourse there was a chance you hit some allies but far less) and you could carry alot more bullets than a few small bombs
also it has a very good armour and some weak 11 guns so we get a french lower tier tank thing I think; you can't penn him and he can't penn you :P (yes ino weak rear etc I wasn't accepted for the alpha  :Smile_sad: )

anyway this means we get infantry in wowp and with every one we kill extra credits so we don't get wot xp/credit scenario :Smile_trollface:  ?

I don't think any plane in game will be immune to 7.62mm weaponry, not completely.

The crew might be protected from small weapons.. but wings and tail? Not so much.

In the article it's mentioned that engine (and even that isn't armoured on top) and crew compartment are the armoured bits, the rest is fabric. The bit behind the rear gunner for example weighed a total of 55kg, that can't be very well armoured (According to http://www.ctrl-c.li.../RAM/tsh-3.html).

Still, apparently one of the failures of early ground attack planes was that they were designed by adding armour instead of building out of armor where possible, if that makes sense. The planes ended up being rather heavier than necessary, having to have separate structure (of duraluminium or something) and steel armour?

Not like I'm an expert or anything of course :D

Tsh-3 , what can you say ... as fast as a one legged greyhound , handles like a brick with a climb rate of a foot an hour ,
Nice guns tho ... http://forum-eu.worl..._teethhappy.gif

Haha, I can't agree more with that  :Smile_veryhappy:

I have flown this plane a couple of times now and it CAN be fun. Although this will mostly only be of short duration.. At the beginning of the game just fly with your team right at enemies and try to get someone to come at you dead on. And then all you gotta do is fire all them 10 guns, haha.
WARNING: if you do NOT kill the plane when flying directly at it, you're fucked. I can't say it otherwise, this plane handles like a brick and it can't make turns all that well. If it will turn at all, climbing or getting into the clouds with this bird isn't going to happen at all. Don't get fancy, it will not climb unless you have like 2 minutes time to get 200 meters higher into the air witht he boost enabled..

Using it as a ground attacking plane tho, quite some fun. Fly directly at your target, power down the engine and deploy your flaps (depends on the flight angle), when you get into range, once again, fire them guns!  :Smile_playing:
And why deploy the flaps? It's simple, if you get this plane to fly faster than 300 km/h, it gets uncontrollable.. It starts to shake and only when you get it below the 300km/h it starts to get controllable again..

Yea but you won't throw small boms 20 meters fromy our own guys from two kilometers up are you, no you'll dive bomb (not like a stuka or dauntless, but similar, smaller angle), in situations where the enemy is very clsoe toy our guys MGs are better, but where you have a free pass at them bombs are better, bigger dmg
