I was just grinding through my low tier critical planes (premium that I use to train crews up & planes I'm upgrading or grinding to next tier) & was working on my LBsh and I get paired up in a 1v1 battle with a 109B. Turns out the dude has 579 battles, of which 31 on the 109B & judging from the scores he has on the plane, that thing is not even fully upgraded yet. The battle turned into 10 minutes of me toying with him & now I feel all dirty for violating the poor noob like that... I did not mind the 6 minute wait for the match, wasn't even bothered by the 1v1 thing that much... But MM could have paired me up with someone who at least stood a chance! I know for a fact there were "worthy" opponents online at the moment! Not 10 minutes before I'd had a match 3v3 where looks like the minimum winrate was about 55% & not one of us had under 3000 battles (granted, that was on T3, but still). Also, please don't misunderstand the "worthy opponent" comment for ego... It is just a statement of fact... not even 600 battles player stands no chance whatsoever 1v1 a player with 6000+ battles & 59% winrate... For all I know, if this dude keeps playing, he will wind up slapping me all over the sky one day, but that day is a long way off!

My question is this: What exactly was MM thinking with this pairing???

Stay out of clouds. The silver lining everyone keeps talking about might be another airplane going in the opposite direction.  Reliable sources also report that mountains have been known to hide in clouds.

For some reason, WoWp does not save some of my replays... I've lost the replays for some very nice battles that way & sadly this one was the same... Wasn't all that exciting though... About 11 minutes long & most of it was me attacking ground targets...

Sounds like 1 on 1 battles at Tier VIII with an IL-20 to me...:hiding:

You can just keep taking out stuff in hit 'n run attacks and that poor fighter on the enemy team doesn't have the slightest chance.

Same thing happened to me. I thought I would try one battle in my new plane, after waiting 6 minutes this was the MM

Spoiler

My opponent had 250 battles. The MM is just completely broken.

Wanted to pull my Ar-65 out of the hangar, waited 15 minutes and saw no battle whatsoever. The amount of players was just right for 5v5, but nope. GG mm.

No, I don't think noobs need protection, this type of 1v1 might actually be one of the better educational tools your opponent has, because he can't rely on teammates and he's forced to adapt to the situation, needless to say, try giving him general hints in chat just to be friendly.
