Since the thread is a few days old already (but has been published just now), I'm bumping this so it shows up as new content for everyone who might've missed it.

:teethhappy: Eheh, just wanted to make sure I do not forget anything in the rules (and to leave as little room for misunderstandings as possible). It is probably easier than it looks... Tried to keep it similar to past tournaments or Clan Wars for those who know the whole process of contacting the other team, picking planes, etc.
(If everyone plays fair, we will not need all this rule enforcement stuff anyway ^^)
Hoping for your participation!

I see that battles are scheduled to begin at 19:00.

That's a little early since some of us have other obligations (family, kids etc.) - and - for players in the UK - it means battles will already start at 6pm (possibly at dinner time for the UK-geezers).

Is 19:00 non-negotiable...?

That's true mate, but I simply have to ask - some of the UK-geezers in COSTS are already whining :teethhappy:

The question still remains open...

Starting at 20:00 CET would be fine for me, too. But I thought it might get a little late for players from Eastern Europe then. (What I had in mind was a time frame of one hour for one round to be played, and four rounds per day.)
It is always allowed to start somewhat earlier if all necessary results are confirmed and both teams agree, so it might well be possible that the tournament does not drag on too much. Therefore I might return the question: Would 20:00 CET (and captains' meeting at 19:30 CET) be okay? Not too early for UK, and not too late for Eastern Europe?
EDIT: Created a poll here.

Thanks Necro! Highly appreciate it.

You're right about there could be "conflicting" timezones in relation to UK vs. Eastern Europe.

The team I'm trying to assemble is from all over Europe (UK,Germany,Netherlands,Romania,Slovakia and - most important ofc. - Denmark), and the chaps from UK whined most about 19:00...

...imagine what it's like to setup a clan-event or some bloody team training...

Voted 20:00 btw. Thanks again for giving democracy a chance :)

IMPOTRANT: We need to make a little change to the rules concerning plane banning. See the poll here.

Question about planes.

T5 and T 6 - all regular means no premium at all? Like P-39Q-15 you can buy for gold?

Regular in this case was referring to the sentence in the rules above: "All planes that can be regularly purchased via the game client and that do not exceed an optimum altitude of 2000 m are allowed."
This means: All tech-tree planes and all premiums that you can regularly buy in the tech-tree are allowed, but no special event planes that could be earned during events or bought on special occasions only.

IMPORTANT:
Since the number of registered teams is rather low at the moment, the timeframe for registration might be extended by one week - and the tournament might be postponed by one week. However, the final decision will be made after the current registration phase is over. It is not too late to register your team until Wednesday evening!

Thank you for your patience creating this event for us players. Not many can appreciate the effort you have put into this to make it happen.

One thing that could be better, imho, would be if we use only BO3 through out the tournament. Finals with 2xBO5 are a lengthy business...quite boring actually.

So, with only 6 teams registered so far, and relatively few hours left before registration closes, it looks like the number of teams will be somewhat...small...

Will you consider extending the length/structure of the tournament ? F.ex. change it to "all vs. all" (=5 matches per team, perhaps split matches over two days).

I mean: It would be nice to see a little more action in "Hedgehopper" than the expected 2-3 battles (=1 match) - some on my team are not so experienced within tournaments, and it would be a great learning experience for them.

Note: It's just a suggestion. I truly understand if you tell me to f*ck off with such a last-minute "blurp".

I'm also fully aware of the amount of work you probably already put into getting this tournament together.

However, by looking at the registered teams so far, I guess most (all?) of the participants have entered "Hedgehopper" because of the fun and special kind of teamplay, rather than the actual prizes.

i suppose if it stays at the number of teams its at then a round-robin style tourney could be nicer yeah

Scratch my suggestion - I see there have been registered more teams compared to the low number yesterday.

However, it could still be great fun to have a little more than the expected/anticipated 1-2 matches (4-6 battles), - we're mainly participating for the fun, since the highest "prize" we might win is probably the new a**-hole you guys will tear on each of us in battle
