Dear pilots,

 

Thanks for taking the time to test our latest WiP build, the Conquest mode. If you haven't tried it yet, be aware that the test will be running until the 25th of September, so there is still time left! 

While we are going through the default feedback thread (in all languages), and all other Conquest Mode created threads, we would also like to gather feedback in a more structured fashion.

We would appreciate if you take the time to reply in this thread, answering the following questions:

  • How quickly did you gain an insight into the rules of the new game mode?
  • Which aircraft type did you like to play most of all? Why?
  • Which aircraft type did you like to play least of all? Why?
  • Did you fly bombers? If yes, please describe your impression of the following:
    • Bombers as an aircraft type in general
    • Controlling a rear gunner
    • The new bombing mode
  • How would you assess the general atmosphere of the game? In your opinion, is the game spectacular?

I am enjoying some of the game and other new items not at all.  I cannot open my RB Russian Bomber and take it for a flight.

The rest as per your questions - after a short period of playing

  • How quickly did you gain an insight into the rules of the new game mode?
    • Quite Quickly
  • Which aircraft type did you like to play most of all? Why?
    • I played fighters and bombers. They give a new gameplay stile
  • Which aircraft type did you like to play least of all? Why?
    • No comment as yet
  • Did you fly bombers? If yes, please describe your impression of the following:
    • Bombers as an aircraft type in general
      • I like the bombers - only played British (beginning of WW2 bomber and you can see/feel it) and American (mid WW2 and feel and see it , Awfully nice weapons for multipurpose heavy fighter)  Cannot comment on Russian as I cannot open it into my hangar - think it must be bug)
    • Controlling a rear gunner 
      • No problem - but you loose tactical info for when you want to get back as pilot
    • The new bombing mode
      • I enjoyed it - would suggest a aircraft flight line and small  left/right movement with your S/D key for accurate bomb-run, whilst mouse do bigger movement.
  • How would you assess the general atmosphere of the game? In your opinion, is the game spectacular?
    • Atmosphere not bad. Spectacular - No.  Bring back old UI and just update with some of new UI.  New UI give you no tactical info and you loose yourself without knowing where the rest of enemy/team is.
  • Did you want to join a new battle once a previous battle was over?
    • Because it is a test - I join as soon as I can 
  • Please specify briefly what you liked most of all during the game test?
    • The bombers - give a new gameplay and dimension.  But it is far from ready for release.
  • Please specify briefly what you liked least of all during the game test?
    • No feedback to the pilot on what he did - No UI giving A/C feedback - No radar
  • Please describe your first impression of the following aspects of the game:
    • Opportunity to respawn in the same battle
      • Good Idea for certain types of games
    • Interaction (or its absence) with other players
      • Did not like - Bombers should allow you to have 2 fighter escorts for protection - thus a team/flight of 2 fighters and bombers - That would allow very nice attack and defend modes for both sides
    • Graphics and visual effects
      • Jerky and sometimes awfull. Movie style
    • Music and sounds
      • Not Bad
    • Aircraft control
      • No UI so you dont know what you are doing
    • Spatial awareness
      • As previously said - not good
    • Shooting
      • Not a problem - difficult in a strafing run as you cannot identify targets nicely
  • Did you face technical (or any other) difficulties when playing the game?
    • Very jerky and teleportation.  No interaction with graphics to help your style of maps/UI etc

No proper mission feedback - so I do not know how I am currently doing with missions, that said is ingame missions and also the Test Missions for loot etc to your normal game.

Game very slow in paying any tokens/loot crates - thus no insentive to play game

The tracers. Most of the time you cant see them because there is no yellow or red in them (like it is in reality)

​Idiotic and totally unfun. Are you trying to copy that moronic Warthunder?

​Most of them spoke only Russian, so I did not have much of a chance.

​On my Acer G9 Predator 17: stunning!

​Very good, keep it like that!

​Seems authentic and much better than in 1.0, if only one could see the tracers more reliably

    • Rules are not very clear. The scoring in the game is chaos.
  • Which aircraft type did you like to play most of all? Why?
    • New type of aircraft because its NEW :)
  • Which aircraft type did you like to play least of all? Why?
    • No plane type was out.
  • Did you fly bombers? If yes, please describe your impression of the following:
    • Bombers as an aircraft type in general
      • Generally it is nice to see a new type of aircraft.
    • Controlling a rear gunner 
      • However, the cool thing is not very effective. You need more workout type.
    • The new bombing mode.
      • Cool bomb sight. You need to play this more.
  • How would you assess the general atmosphere of the game? In your opinion, is the game spectacular?
    • In conclusion, the pros and cons I estimate that the introduction of a new version in this edition as in the public test will cause the departure of many old players and it certainly will not be spectacular.
  • Did you want to join a new battle once a previous battle was over?
    • NO.
  • Please specify briefly what you liked most of all during the game test?
    • Effects of exposures.
  • Please specify briefly what you liked least of all during the game test?
    • No feedback to the pilot on what he did - No UI giving A/C feedback - No radar
  • Please describe your first impression of the following aspects of the game:
    • Opportunity to respawn in the same battle
      • Very bad idea. Childishness.
    • Interaction (or its absence) with other players
      • Did not like - during the test games you could not get help.
    • Graphics and visual effects
      • Overall I judge how weak and even very weak.
    • Music and sounds
      • I turn off the game and I do not listen to these bands.
    • Aircraft control
      • Tragic compared to the current version.
    • Spatial awareness
      • Not good.
    • Shooting
      • I say this same: Not a problem - difficult in a strafing run as you cannot identify targets nicely
  • Did you face technical (or any other) difficulties when playing the game?
    • I say this same: Very jerky and teleportation.  No interaction with graphics to help your style of maps/UI etc

Personal observations from a few games.

MINUSES:
- a small cash multiplier and xp to add something in a few days,
- very strange control - aircraft movements,
- there is no possibility of setting below yourself as it is now,
- the price for the training of 75% of the crew is 100 000, and at the start you get so much,
- terrestrial markers poorly visible,
- The markers of the enemy aircraft also weakly visible, appear close up,
- lack of these visibility settings of the aircraft, GT as it is now,
- no patch for shooting the plane,
- Frequent lag, sometimes as if your plane doubled-split for a moment - lag.
- The back shooter option is a bit stupid. The fact that you shoot yourself as you really do dodging and shooting from the "machine" gives a better effect,
- No sniper mode on bombers.

 
PROS:
- Cool explosion effects of aircraft,
- cool noises hit your plane through the peloton or rear,
- nice construction of the above ground cell,
- very cool bombing mode on the bombers - effects,
- throwing bombs - great sound of bomb flight,
- Sniper mode is pretty cool.

Summing up these pair of fights:
- improved the quality of some effects, but the overall effect is poor.
 

If this is going to be an extra game mode then ok. I just will not use it.
Personally, I would say that despite some improvements I do not really like it. I would even say that game for children.

      • Few sorties flown; it's nice addition, rear gun control is useful. Bomber sight needs some refines

    • It's quite spectacular (but not much to be honest)
  • Did you want to join a new battle once a previous battle was over?
    • Yes, but only because it's test server ;)
  • Please specify briefly what you liked most of all during the game test?
    • Better looks of game
  • Please specify briefly what you liked least of all during the game test?
    • LACK OF FLAP CONTROL (LIKE MOST PLAYERS)
  • Please describe your first impression of the following aspects of the game:
    • Opportunity to respawn in the same battle
      • It's awesome additon, but the squall line (blocking respawns) should be visible (not only annoucement)
    • Interaction (or its absence) with other players
      • Nah, I don't speak Russian ;)
    • Graphics and visual effects
      •  Game is more colorful and action-packed, but camera movement needs to be refined; UI is too minimalistic
    • Music and sounds
      •  Music is better; .50-cals sound is the same & still sucks
    • Aircraft control
      •  Planes react faster, therefore game feel better; on other hand, lack of flap control is dumbing down game
    • Spatial awareness
      •  I can easily find enemy planes (EDIT: unless they're on other side of map, 'cause I don't get info about situation), but camera movement sometimes causes crashing into buildings
    • Shooting
      •  Shockingly, lack of lead indicator were not a problem for me ;)
  • Did you face technical (or any other) difficulties when playing the game?
    •  Game runs better on my potato-tier PC then current version (EDIT: but netcode is AWFUL; compensation of lagspikes ending with microjumps of planes? NO, JUST NO)

Yes. I'd like to be able to log in using my EU account rather than being forced in to the russian one. Same e-mail addresses, different passwords. And different usernames too I found out, as support apparently renamed me on RU. Not that I ever posted or downloaded any clients other than the SuperTest ones. Fully English interface and messages rather than cyrillic ones could be nice. Don't understand why the client download is not bound to the WG Game Center region you're logged in to, or with which region's account you're logged in to the Game Center, but can't say I'm surprised about that either.

  • The general idea is easy. The way to do it is unclear.
  • Which aircraft type did you like to play most of all? Why?
  • NONE, the "new" flight characteristics are so oversimplified and same, that ruins the feel of flying. (together with "new" UI lack of info)
  • Which aircraft type did you like to play least of all? Why?
  • Its irrelevant, the way the game plays it makes no real difference, you just go around and shoot bots, with similar aircraft behavior, no matter the type. (Extremely bad in my opinion)
  • Did you fly bombers? If yes, please describe your impression of the following:
  • Bombers as an aircraft type in general
  • Its a type that must find a way to be in the CURRENT (1.9) game - variety is good
  • Controlling a rear gunner
  • Can be fun for a while, anyway an addition that cannot harm the game. But the aircraft should have an AI pilot and not fly straight while we operate the rear gunner. I would like it for all gunners though, on every plane. (Attackers - Heavy - multi role).
  • The new bombing mode
  • Looks nice, its easy, but infinite bombs? Its completely fake. At most there must be a way to rearm them by landing on (or passing by over) a friendly airport during the game and have a chance for a second or a third bombing run at most. This way the bombers will fly at some point low to land and will be engaged by fighters. The way it is, someone can climb as high as possible and click bombs everywhere continuously without any major worries.
  • How would you assess the general atmosphere of the game? In your opinion, is the game spectacular?
  • I prefer the original mode, looks more real, this one looks over simplified and childish like a game for tablets.
  • Did you want to join a new battle once a previous battle was over?
  • No it looks pointless, you have nothing to prove, just shooting infinite bots and respawns, in fact its tiring. In the original game even 1 kill can count for the battle, here you can do 20-30 kills in a battle for nothing. Simply frustrating, tiring and boring.
  • Please specify briefly what you liked most of all during the game test?
  • Hitting a plane now makes some small parts leaving.
  • Please specify briefly what you liked least of all during the game test?
  • The change of airplane behavior - the change of instrumentation (Radar - camera - player tabs - engine boost - overheating -  the way planes are marked - colors) - the respawns - the infinite bombs,rockets - the even more bots which one moment are on your side and next moment against you and (re)appear magically on the battlefield.
  • Please describe your first impression of the following aspects of the game:
  • Opportunity to respawn in the same battle
  • I completely HATE it, you can try hard to shoot down a worthy opponent, just to find him in front of you a few moments later. So what to try for?
  • Interaction (or its absence) with other players
    • What interaction? Its a chaos as it is, most of the times you cannot tell who or what is shooting at you.
  • Graphics and visual effects
  • I Prefer the original, the new ones are set to impress little kids, and remove the attention from the actual BAD game-play.
  • Music and sounds
  • Definitely worst than the original
  • Aircraft control
  • AWFUL! PLEASE DON'T CHANGE the original, It is already over simplified as it is.
  • Spatial awareness
  • With the lack of instrumentation of the original UI, is non existing
  • Shooting
  • I would add it as an option and let the players decide if they need a leading or not. Personally I can leave with both.
  • Did you face technical (or any other) difficulties when playing the game?
  • The FPS are worst than the current, major delays returning to hangar. The game engine is below average.

 

CONCLUSION: The idea to add a second strategic mode to the game is not bad. ADD it carefully to the CURRENT (1.9) game, NOT change it to something else, like this we test here.

The 1.9 version is good. In version 2.0 needs to be improved NOT altered. The core looking - mechanics - sounds - UI - aircraft behavior MUST be kept AS IS NOW.

    • tchat interface is less communicative very similar to a clone game

  • lot of freezes with medium quality and fps average at 25!! GTX 950 card turning very nice under 1.9

 

CONCLUSION: 

- Conquest mode and standard mode could be coexist but i doubt that conquest mode will be appreciated but actual users

- Conquest mode as clan war could be a good idea for battles between clans but not used in standard battles ..

- Bots integration already made lot of players to leave ... the version 2.0 will make all choose the "clone similar game"

- word of a professionnal: "a good idea could be listening to the users suggestions before developing next versions .. big loss of time and customers will come"

  • Nope. In fact closed test client after first death - it was utter waste of time.

  • Graphics seems to be improved as well as behavior during alt-tab.

  • Everything else.

    • It makes me wasting time in lost battles.
    • Interaction (or its absence) with other players
    • Hard to notice any due to $hitty interface.
    • Graphics and visual effects
    • Whatever, it should be an action game, not one to enjoy view.

    • Aircraft control
    • $hit, laggy, bumpy and autolevelling that can't be turned off.
    • Spatial awareness
    • Awa-what? No minimap nor radar, no view on enemy plane, $hit hud with barely readable speed and alt indicator, no markers of optimal speed.
    • Shooting
    • Whatever under pile of other crap.

  • Except that it's utter $hit, not at all.

flight mechanics seem to have changed quite a bit but i don't quite understand how. i had several cases where my plane was flying sideways and such but i guess that this is due to terrible lag i have sometimes for the test server. anyhow that makes it difficult to judge the changes when it's not clear whether it's actually different or huge lag. take stalling for example. there were some changes made here but so far they seem clumsy implemented. the plane just acts really weird such as i can't tell whether it's intended or lag or whatever. 

 

Other then that i feel that gameplay UI is way too minimalistic and a lot of information i am used to i cannot find anymore. for example in the current live game i can easily target an enemy on my tail, identify his plane and thus decide how best to lose him. doesn't work like that in 2.0 anymore.

  • In this mode, Attack Aircraft. Too slow to move from area to area.

    • Interesting, but maybe because it's new

  • Graphisms are really nice. Sounds are good, except engines.

  • Neutral planes to fight before gaining an area. An area should be won when 3 or 4 allied planes remain inside. And reinforcements should appear 10s later.
  • Please describe your first impression of the following aspects of the game:
    • Opportunity to respawn in the same battle
    • I don't like that. A destroyed plane shouldn't come back in the battle as a new plane.
    • Interaction (or its absence) with other players
    • Not sufficient for a mode which needs a real cooperation between players.
    • Graphics and visual effects
    • Really nice.
    • Music and sounds
    • Good, except engine sounds (not loud enough)
    • Aircraft control
    • Decent
    • Spatial awareness
    • Realistic in sniper mode (so quite average). Otherwise rather good.

    • Excellent

  • Yes, big lag (80-95ms). FPS are low (40-60 with a GTX 1050 Ti)

Other then that i feel that gameplay UI is way too minimalistic and a lot of information i am used to i cannot find anymore. for example in the current live game i can easily target an enemy on my tail, identify his plane and thus decide how best to lose him. doesn't work like that in 2.0 anymore.

 

this is exactly my problem with test.

Hallo Wargaming Team,

schön das Ihr uns fragt, wie und das neue Spiel gefällt. Schön wäre es auch gewesen, wenn Ihr die Frage auch im deutsches Forum gestellt hätten. Ich werde Euch nun aber versuchen das Spiel aus meiner Sicht zu bewerten.

 

  • die Regeln sind relativ gut und überschaubar erklärt
  • von Haus aus fliege ich im jetzigen Spiel alle Flieger gern. Im neuen Spiel sind die Bomber sehr langweilig. Nur in großer Höhe umher fliegen und immer wieder Bomben fallen zu lassen macht keinen Reiz und auch keinen Sinn. Die Flaks ist einfach zu stark, die kleinen Jäger haben dagegen kaum Chancen. Hier ist eine Überarbeitung wohl zwingend erforderlich. Das Visier fehlt, müsste nachgebessert werden. Alles ist ein wenig schwerfällig.
  • Die allgemeine Atmosphäre des Spiels ist recht gut. Die Karten sehen viel besser aus. Die
  • Das Spiel ist meines Erachtens nicht so spektakulär wie das Alte. Dazu fehlt noch was  pepp.
  • Ich habe gleich nach der Schlacht eine Neue begonnen. Was mir missfällt ist das Widerbeleben.
  • Grafiken und visuelle Effekte, Musik und Töne sind besser als im alten Spiel
  • Flugzeugkontrolle, Räumliches Bewusstsein, Schießen, in diesen Bereichen muss unbedingt nachgebessert werden
  • Es sind auch noch einige Fehler, z.B. nach jedem Flug bleibt unten stets ein Fenster auf, lange Hangarladezeiten viel zu lang, Landeklappen können über Tastatur nicht gesteuert werden, Horizont fehlt, künstliche Bomberschwadron ist viel zu stark, dadurch das der Gegner + neutrale Luftverteidigung in der Luft ist hat man zuviele Gegner auf einmal
  • Technisch gesehen muss unbedingt noch etwas gemacht werden. Oftmals fliegen die Flugzeuge sehr schwammig und unkontrolliert

Well...since I already answered those questions on the CT-forum after the 1st closed test on March 5th, I'll just do a slightly modified copy+paste of the Q&A posted back then below.

 

I kindly remind you, Wargaming: All (almost) testers you invited to participate back then warned you about what 2.0 would do to the game and how the rest of the population would look at it.

However, you did a 2nd iteration with almost nothing changed, and now you made the test public for a 3rd run...

...once again facing exactly the same sh*tstorm as seen in the CT-forum.......

 

Well...here we go:

 

How quickly did you gain an insight into the rules of the new game mode?

Well...it took a little while, but I don't think that's the most serious issue related to 2.0.....


Which aircraft types did you try?

So far, mainly bombers since they're new, and light fighters because I frigging love flying those planes - in the normal client ofc.


Did you fly bombers? If yes, please describe your impression of the following:

Yes, I've flown Blenheim and the Russian T8-bomber. I fairly quickly lost interest in bombers: too simple and VERY boring!

The CONCEPT of bombers is great, but they need to fit in more "naturally" among the rest of the "population" (LF/HF/MR/GA planes).

Add to that: Unlimited supply of bombs?? Give me a f*cking break...


How would you assess the general atmosphere of the game? In your opinion, is the game spectacular?

The "atmosphere" can best be described as a childish, cartoon-like, warthunder-cloned environment. I guess that covers it pretty much...

...and the game is not very spectacular (assuming spectacular=good).


Did you want to join a new battle once a previous battle was over?

Well, since I got into testing 2.0 from the very start, I felt like I HAD to to be qualified to give some feedback eventually.

If it wasn't for the test, I probably stayed away after a few battles.


How big do you think your personal contribution to the outcome of a battle was? Why?

I honestly don't know... For example: I shot down 12 planes in one battle and it was still a loss. In another I did almost nothing, and somehow it was a win.... confusing like hell...

Flying bombers is just...well...fly somewhere, drop bombs, do a 2nd pass if needed, fly to new position, drop bombs.....boring....even if some unfortunate enemy took crap-shots at my plane (at >3k it takes a while to get up there...), it's fairly easy to evade and even fight back.

 

Flying fighters - and comparing them to the exact same fighters I have in the real game - is like a goddamned nightmare!

The fun,thrill and action of being a fighterpilot is completely gone.

The CONCEPT of "Conquest" is truly great! However, "Conquest" should instead be integrated as a 2nd gamemode - with SAME mechanics, PLEASE - as seen in the current look/feel of WoWp. I think that's doable quite easy, tbh.

The CONCEPT of bombers is also somewhat good. However - as mentioned above and elsewhere - they should be more "integrated" with current types of LF/HF/MR planes.

Think that's pretty clear already, isn't it ? Well...since it's also highly important to warn you about releasing 2.0 as it looks right now - and with the current direction it's going in - I'll repeat: The childish, cartoon-like, warthunder-cloned environment is a disaster. Period!


Interaction (or its absence) with other players

The game-chat needs to have it's colors changed. It's unreadable currently.

Met old clan-mates and contacts in battle - often had to type a message at least 2-3 times before they noticed/responded. That would never happen in the current version.

 

Graphics and visual effects

The current 1.9 version is better compared to 2.0.

 

Music and sounds

Think others already pointed that out: The sounds are not very good. Bring back the old ones. They're actually fine atm.

I never listen to the music in the game, so I'm not qualified to answer anything about that.

 

Aircraft control

Once again: A childish, cartoon-like, warthunder-cloned experience. Judge yourself what that could mean...

 

Spatial awareness

Hmmm.....without the wellknown radar it's sometimes like flying in the dark. Without the HUD it's like flying with just one eye open (in the dark).

Without other well-known indicators from the current 1.9-version it's like flying in the dark with both eyes closed....

...and the reworked minimap is just....bad implemented...

 

Shooting

Now, HERE's something I really like: The aim-marker is gone. Don't know if that was intentional or just something that (also) slipped by your QA-control, but: Well done! Shooting is much, much more fun and challenging, but will not even begin to compensate for the other flaws.

 

 

Did you face technical (or any other) difficulties when playing the game?

Unlike others, I didn't face any technical difficulties. Apart from - of course - the need for a higher fps-rate (which you've tried to hide, what a cheap trick...). But I'm sure you're aware that low fps in dogfights is also a huge problem in 1.9. It really needs to be optimised.

 

 

 

Bottom line: "Conquest" and - to some extent - bombers is a fresh, new addition. Shooting at someone without aim-marker is really great.

The new mechanics, "atmosphere" and - well - basically everything else, should be kept away from public release. You're so far off the target.

 

IMO the best you could do in the short run are the following:

- Integrate "Conquest" as a selectable game-mode in the current game (1.9).

- Change bombers so they're more in line with other plane types (LF/HF/MR/GA). And please: no unlimited supply of bombs.

- Having no aim-marker is actually great.

- Forget about the cartoon-like, warthunder-cloned mechanics and gameplay. At best it's a disaster.

Not so good and fast as when I read them. But the english comment doesn’t really help in this case

    Heavy was the most uncontrolable but I guess it’s the same for many high tier planes. I miss at least a horizon indicator and as next the patch for aiming

Nice to play but as the other planes some clues to know if you fly horizontaly would be nice when you are aiming & bombing.

  • Controlling a rear gunner

Hello WG team and community,

 

I've started playing this game 3 years ago and all in all I do like it, it distracts me from my daily job, don't even care about the MM if I have a bad match... well take it like a man an join battle again. Furthermore I used to share my account with my 3 kids, witch is good gives us one more reason to share time together, so don't mind my stats... or mind because i'm not ashamed of having these stats with 4 noobs playing...

 

After this introduction let's go to the point of this message:

- You are trying to revive the game and that's a good thing, I do remember the times where there were 15vs15 humans and tactics prevailed...

- The game that you are presenting in this 2.0 version goes to another path... an arcade game to please kids, everyone does kills and imagine that... yesterday i was playing version 2.0 with some guys of EU and RU and we didn't engage between ourselves we went for the bots first... easy kills and dead meat! ahahah!

- What I think will happen, even-though I don't have a crystal ball, is that you will loose some of the base players that from several topics are just saying that the game... well... needs a lot of work still to get to Alpha release... it is confusing... no tactics whatsoever and the re-spawns... that´s just pulling our legs right? To play this 2.0 version as is... well I may change to warthunder.

 

The problem with WOW as it stands today is the time you need to learn the mechanics of the game, how you can influence the match... we have all seen new players (noobs) strafing with zeros, going like Top Gun against the enemy team and so on...

My proposal to WG team and I would like the other community members to tell if it makes sense or if it is just uhh... let's say a bad idea... is to have a new game concept within the current version, let me call it the "Trainer" you can call it whatever you would like.

 

"Trainer Mode"

 

1. In the game options

- You add a checkbox with: allow Trainer mode, by default the thick should be on and any player can uncheck it if he doesn't want to play in this mode. 

 

2. Prize

- 1 Token per battle up to 5 tokens per day. for each Trainer and Trainee

 

3. Mission Objective:

- Help a trainee (new player, noob, whatever) do 1 kill or 15 points of gts, survive and win the battle

- Trainer must Survive

 

4. Rules

- The Trainer needs to have at least 1 T10;

- The Trainer needs to have at least 5k battles;

- The Trainer can't be in a flight;

- The Trainee can't have more than 1 T6 plane;

- The Trainee can't have more that 2,5k battles;

- This mode is available from T1 to T4 only.

 

5. The match

- When the player joins the battle (T1 to T4) an evaluation is done if he can be an Trainer or Trainee;

- Selected players (Trainer /Trainee) enter the battle as a flight, up to 3 flights per team... here allowing these types of flights with GAA needs to be evaluated by you if it makes sense or not... in my perspective it should be limited to HF, MRF and Fighters;

- It is the responsibility of the Trainer to keep that NOOB ALIVE!!!! and help him do 1 kill or 15 points of gts. Both need to survive and battle must be won!

 

6. What I think will help the game:

- Seal clubbing will be reduced a lot, because an experienced player will think of helping the noob, not letting him die so that he can finish the T1-T4 daily mission and sum an additional token doing so.

- There will be less experienced players going to low tiers in flights... we all know... if 1 bf110 is hard to kill... 2 experienced players in a flight of 110... well you have a better chance in winning the lottery than winning the match!

- The noob will be happy, because he will be able to start gaining tokens and winning battles from day 1, his gaming experience in lower tiers will be better since he just started to play a game and the "experts" help him out! go figure! they are nice guys!

- The learning curve of the new player will be dramatically reduced. since the experienced player will give some hints and tactics to the new player in chat.

- The new player will have an additional challenge in his mind to quickly evolve to "Trainer" status.

 

It won't put 20k players online, but it will help the new players get a better experience of the game, maybe spend some $ in premium account and planes and it will allow also a greater interaction between players.

 

If it is a bad idea I'm sorry to have wasted your time, again I would like to know the inputs of the guys that normally post in this forum.

Rules are easy to understand (=conquer local zones to win global superiority), but made overcomplicated by useless details that are no fun.

Unlocked premium planes, just to try them. Bombers are boring (stay high and drop bombs) & ground attackers are boring (travel time...) ; should you take a fighter, shoot what you see... don't think about something else... and it gets boring after a while.

If I weren't grinding some missions to get a few gold, I wouldn't play at all... This game mode could only work if both team could really coordinate themselves, but this is not the case.

Yes, I did. Just a boring experience : fly high, drop bombs, wait for some magic to reload your ammunition while flying, and go back to drop bombs. Controlling the rear gunner is just a shooter mode, without any interrest because your plane just proceed in straight line and becomes a sitting duck for your follower. And the new bombing mode... ? Well, if it comes to shoot at something with a reticle, methinks Space Invaders could do.


* How would you assess the general atmosphere of the game? In your opinion, is the game spectacular?
Pyrite looks like gold, but isn't. This game looks spectacular, but isn't.

 

* Did you want to join a new battle once a previous battle was over?
No. Just grinding some mission, trying premium planes I couldn't afford, and looking at the new maps (I mostly liked them)

Hum... No fun, lack of battle awereness, lost the impression I personaly could do something during a battle and change "the tides of war", GUI lacks many key features, respawn mode

  Interaction (or its absence) with other players: no interaction... you don't know where they are, you don't know what they are doing, and you can't follow the battle... so why should I care ?
  Graphics and visual effects: maps are nice, even if some touch are somewhat flashy, and I really prefer performance vs eyecandy
  Music and sounds: music is average-good in 1.9, it still is ; sounds range from ridiculous to nearly nice
  Aircraft control: just try it, one or 2 games are enough...
  Spatial awareness: missing in action :)
  Shooting: i somewhat appreciate the new mode, you have to watch more carefully to tracers, which I like. Allowing to change the way you aim should be an option... like in v1.x

So many lags and incredible flight behaviours... just as a starter...

 

Final thought: this should be a new mode for the game; just keep the present UI (default can be more simple if you want), and keep battle mode. Do not focus on "child only" mode: children mostly play the games their parents like...

comparing to 1.9 its more arcade style game which i dont like, the fights were like "which area is most important to conquer to make the own team win" i missed some tactical depth, i missed good dogfights

there was lag, enemys "jumped" in front of me, sounds for engine and guns were crap, long waiting for hangar access, some russian language game messages on my screen which i didnt understand, hitting an enemyplane was more acoustic than visual experience, comparing to 1.9, i prefer the red circle as a leadpoint help for aiming an enemy

most players were russian, not much interaction beside some pings on the map

graphics looked good, explasions were not bad but visual effects when i hit a plane and little particles flew from the enemyplane was a bit annoying

i dont play with music, plane and gunsounds were crap. i hope you will do better sounds in the future

worse than in 1.9, i use mouse and keyboard

Spatial awareness

same as 1.9 but nothing spectacular

i missed lead point and find out the right distance where my plane hits the enemy

lags, plane jumps, need to push the tab key twice to have the players list, long waiting times for hangar after the battle

 

Summary:

As a first Test its ok to get peoples opinions, if you bring conquest as a gamemode that can be choosen to play or not it might be fun. As stand alone it is boring. Plus i wish some changes like the lead point, as well as the "old" feel of flying a plane that we have in the 1.9 right now and as well with the complete 1.9 HUD. Make better sounds please.

  • It is interesting at beginning, but it feel like cheap arcade flying game. It is not WoWp, game I am playing for years. It is not spectacular.

  • There is severely lack of credits for test client. I can't properly test all planes I want, because I can't upgrade their equipment.
  • Dayly missions are to long and way to hard. 
  • HUD is crap. There is no thrust level of plane, no graphical speedometer and altitudemeter. I want those. There is no leading indicator. 
  • Bots don't follow humans. 
  • There is no option to manually reload the bombs. So if I am left with half the bombs, I have to dump them to get new ones, for next target.

    • I have no problem with that. Clicking battle after waiting time is over is difficult and waste time. Mouse cursor is often gone.

    • There isn't much of it.

    • Like it, better than standard client. It stile is far from good. 
    • Music and sounds
    • Never use sound.
    • Aircraft control
    • Aircraft don't respond quite fast enough. I don't have control settings, as I use to.

    • It is poor. 
    • Shooting
    • Only works when you are in tail of enemy. Deflection shots are hard. Boom and zoom style is impossible to play.

  • My plane crushed just before I came to write this, because controls didn't react
