Somebody got their hands on it even though it's not released on EU yet.

It's released on NA and RU already.... so when do EU get it?

P80 was last Christmas Mission Bonus. Old players have it.

There was a special event a year ago and a lot of people earned it then by completing it.

So the release is just them changing a "bonus reward" plane into regular premium shop plane?

The question is - is the P-80A a good, or even a reasonable, tier VIII plane or have they over-tiered it?

It is a good plane if flown smartly. And more importantly, it's fun for vets, because it's one of the rare LFs that can actually consistently outrun other fighters. But it's not a TnB plane, so newbies might struggle.

P-80 was also releseased last summer.

It was released after WG realized, how much Shenyang is OP. And P-80 is a great counter for it.

Really ? It doesn't seem that powerfull on paper though.

its a good plane indeed. What's with your assumption that "noobies" can only do turn and burn?

Well, in fact it doesn't matter.

 

Both Shenyang and P-80 are able to fast accelerate and keep high speed, which makes them hard to kill and able to accumulate a solid portion of energy.

I said newbies might struggle and I see many really do, because turning is all they know. Don't get all riled up, I didn't count you among them.

in 1.X  the whole line of american planes equipped with 6 mg's Including the p 80  were better then  now;  they lack firepower    in 1.x i even had my pancake equipped with only  machineguns instead of the 20 mm's             now in 2.x planes with big autocannons (soviet 37 mm for example) are way better to use   does anyone feel the same way?

As of today... The hens tooth  P80a Shooting Star is now on a 5 day sale in the Premium shop, a bit on the expensive side but it is there for grabs for a very short time.. who knows when it will be up for grabs next.
