I have been seeing this all over the forums and can't understand why?

I have been away for 2 years playing tanks and last week have returned to wowp's.

The game now (as long as you understand how to play it) is so much better than it used to be.

It now has a purpose and is a very fast game.

You have to know exactly what to do and how and when to do it.

To me a veteran of over 20 years of flight sims feel that this is by far the most satisfying flight sim out there.

I can't understand why people hate it so much.

And why are these haters hanging around this forum.

If it's that bad then do what I did two years ago.

See you in two years time now go away.

Anyway I started re playing this game last week since all my stats were removed when it went live, and now I am hooked again thanks to 3 helpful and informative bots I fly with,

Sibo, papy, and luckybird have explained how this game now works and I think wargaming have done a wonderful job.

Keep up the good work chaps.

Pps: I have introduced 9 new pilots to the game so win some lose some lol.

I have warned them to look out for the stat padding seal clubbing twats in tier 1 levels though lol.

Chow 4 now..

Hey OP, I'm glad you're enjoying the game. Still, one of your lines caught my eye:

Happy you can enjoy WoWp at last.

Now how about ADDING the old mode for the rest who loved the old WoWp and never leave it all these years, in order to enjoy it also?

Lol to funny.

I have a few vids of how it was back in the day .

When I get back on my pc I'll post them for all thoes that miss them dearly.

It's a bit like when Microsoft sold fighterace to the Russians and they over moded the Russian planes.

It all went west.

But this game I think is a blast.

I know very well how it was, and to my personal opinion was far better than now.

BUT as I said I have no problem for conquest to stay for those who enjoy it, Never understood why not having both modes for the people who loved the old mode.

After all, In more that 6 months time, people enjoying V2.0 are by no means more than the ones who enjoyed V1.9.

I see no reason from this why V2.0 stays, while V1.9 no.

Totally agree.

After all it is only the price of running a server and that ain't to expensive.

The way I remember it  was you had a flight of 3 high alt fighters dominating the arenas as when you died you died.

I kind of like the super bots they are fun to kill and some have some tasty moves.

But yes run the old along with the new and just add a game option.

It might have something to do with the graphics engine I don't know.

But please war gameing you can keep a lot of people happy for a minimal outlay.

Right I'm off to pad my stats in my tier 1.

Laters people.

(The above was a not joke btw )

Happy hunting.

yeah, i agree design wise the current state of the game is a big improvement to what is was before. but even so the change came with quite a few bugs and other little annoyances since it was rushed and constrained by limited resources. therefore it is far less polished then it was 2 years back.

i wouldn't call it a flight sim, though. not that it is a bad thing since simulations usually have too complex control scheme and focusing on simulating all the inconveniences that make it hard to make your plane do what you want it to.

as for the forums hate, it is really understandable. WoWp playerbase is mostly made up of those few players that did not quit back then but rather liked it enough to keep on playing. And since WG didn't try to get new players interested in the current version don't expect finding a lot of people with a different sentiment. also you must consider that this is the internet - the place people go to to unload all their negativity.

I like this game for what it is.

I'm surprised a longtime vet would call this a simulation though,  considering how arcadey it is.  :teethhappy:  I guess it depends on how far back you look. I started with Lawrence Holland's Sims (Battlehawks,  Their Finest Hour,  Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe) which were praised for realism at the time,  and I guess WoWP actually compares well to them.

Low-tier seal clubbing -- there's an unfortunate design decision in this game where completing daily missions forces you to play three different tier brackets,  including I-IV.  Sometimes you need to grind a fair bit down there. Maybe some people stick down there just to improve stats, and if so those are some sad individuals, but I'm not sure it's particularly common.

My first PC flying game was '1942: The Pacific Air War'(1994), seemed so real at the time, looking back is like looking at B&W silent movies from the 1920's.
