The fact that WG has removed the ability to "nap of the Earth" bombing runs is a little disappointing. It was fun but it does push the bombers back to "where they're supposed to be".

Personally, I think WG could use this as an opportunity to reintroduce low level bombing in the form of attack planes.

Hear me out.

There are many "Light Bombers" that could be introduced to the game which could be used in the low level bombing role. So instead of heavy forward firing guns just lots of powerful bombs.

Hell, we Brits even managed to low level run Lancasters once.

Hmmmmmm, I wonder if that could be a good PvE mission. A squadron of Lancaster bombers making their way to bomb the damns. First part of the mission is to fly at night very low and fast through a load of check points (rings or something). If you fly too high you get attacked.

Second half of the mission is dropping the bouncing bombs. I think it would be a good PvE mode

RB-17 can circle caps, just make sure you are in a tight turn waiting for the reload. Weaving during reload also good. On factories just run straight in fast and low, for all others fast is OK if the heavies are occupied on another target, so you may need to bank hard and climb quick otherwise. Big mistake is to try and cap factories, missile base or command centre on your own, it takes too long. You get a nice score but loose. Better to drop a load and move on to were the danger is.

Important thing is not to wait for reload above the sector. Boost away, than reload and turn on safe distance, and if necessary come back for next bomb run.

I have discovered that with each update is going from bad to worst. I like bombers too but you get killed by AA very fast, and the acurracy of bombs and damage they done is less and less.

My specialist Do 217 m was really good, I was flying high at 3500 m, few planes were able to catch me, and my updated bombs with +40% acurracy was deadly until updates that ruined everything. Now I get half life for flying once over a base, in an american bomber is even worst, and the russian bombers... I tried them but they are jokes. you get killed very fast by anyone.

Don't you think that is unfair that Do 217 or any bomber is able to fly on altitude that nobody can reach him and be deadly accurate?

The german bombers are special in this because they don't have any meaningful defensive armament.

For every other bomber I agree with you.
