My favourite GAA is the Gerry tier 5 thingy ,once specialised its a beast,

Agreed !!

I have the Hs-129A and B (both specced) and I prefer them over the Stuka and Ju-88P (both ditched). The line gets interesting again at tier VII ...

F7F. Bar none. I've had it in my hangar collecting dust for ages. I recently used it to do the Unbreakable mission and saw that it was just as crap as I remembered it to be,

Heh !! I had exactly the opposite ; stood in the hangar without a pilot, so I put a pilot in and flew it for most of the Unbreakable mission. I even specialized it ...

Worst planes are probably the Yak-9's ...

I just can't hit anything with those heavy guns. But I love the P-39's and the Ki-88.

When you get the hang of those soviet big guns, they are hilarious.

FW-190, all three of them. I can not turn around with that planes. Even the Typhon is much better with turns. I won't give them up, but it still will take years to make them specialist.

Frateras - you probably have the same problem like mine. We are doing it wrong. With the FW-190 line one has to use the speed and firepower not the maneuverability of these aircrafts.

I will get back to this line but not yet. I find the "batman-like" multiroles (8-9 tier) more fun to play than FW-190.

Yeah, I play the Dora as a BNZ, except against heavies.

Focker Wolves (sic US pilots in 1944-45) are not turners. You will lose.

Play them as weakish BnZ, widely circling around the melee and picking targets of opportunity - you have wonderful guns for a quick dispatch. You will shine.

The real ones are quite impressive, apparently you could place a coin on one aileron and the weight would tip the other side causing the coin to fall.

I have no idea what they're like in this game but have little  interest in the Butcher bird line, as they look so awful on paper.

I know your feels, but I'm not willing to throw my Fw190's under the bus just yet. I'm quite fond of them and really wish I could consistently make them live up to the nickname "Butcher Bird"

I have games with them where they absolutely shine, even when I was expecting a battle to be more of a challenge (matchmaker, tier spread, etc) and then of course I'll have an entire run with them where I simply can't get a kill or avoid being shot to pieces.

As pointed out though. They do require some discipline and you must not stray far from the strict Boom and Zoom envelope.

Maybe try developing a few.As I have the feeling  almost any specialised  plane with an ace pilot can be made good.

But then what do I know.:)

I discovered another worst plane in my hangar, the XP-36F Hawk. Does anybody still fly this turd? I tried to finally specialise it today but gave up after a few battles. If I'm ever gonna run out of hangar slots, this one will be the first candidate to be dumped

Amen on XP-36F Hawk. Looked promising with those twin 23mm but they suck and the other two mg's are 7.62, not the glorious .50s.

I hate it with passion.

Is that t4? Gief, so I can properly test it ;) But yeah, I didn't hear many good things about this one, nor have I seen anybody successfully using it. One of those planes that were fine when conceived, but then various game changes rendered it meh (to keep it polite)...

Oh go away, will ya?!

This is normal players talking here, we don't need you to take the smelliest turd of them all and make 333k XP...

The P36C premium is worse. An absolute pig of an aircraft with no redeeming features.

Actually I do own this one, and - while still difficult to fly (because even if it's a lighter and weaker armed P36, which should result in better performance than the regular one, and obviously does exactly the opposite in this game) it's a decent fighter to learn basics of high-altitude engagements. It's very good at chasing heavies (good speed, admittedly) and bombers (though struggles with these due to smaller dakka dakka power). Unfortunately it's neither as fast, nor as maneuverable as Bf 109B, which will be its main adversary on higher altitudes. When pitched against t5, the going gets even tougher... Hobby plane in current game, in a manner of speaking.

Oh man, I had so forgotten about the FW-190 line. Among the few friends of mine who do occasionally dabble in wowp, I refer to said planes with the term murheenkryyni (the etymological translation would be louse of sorrow).

I'll get the Blohm & Voss planes eventually, at least I see it happening sooner than getting past that god awful F7F.

I'll continue further by saying that I, too, have the P-36C in my hangar. I flew with it once, realized shortly after the beginning of the battle "oh geez this is crap!", thanked my lucky stars that we won the match and I haven't touched it since. Still hate it less than the damn F7F.

I have it and I even specialized it. It is a hard plane to fly but when you have daily mission for 10 tokens and need to fly the american line on IV tier I have to choose either XP-36F Hawk or Model. If you keep the XP-36F rather high it can be deadly.

I'm working on that "do 20K base XP in a USSR or US plane, only victorious battles count" mission currently. That's why I thought it'd be a good occasion to specialise it. I noticed its allegedly good performance at high altitudes, where I had the iffy delight to meet some specialised Bf109 and Bf110s, along with Beaus and Blenheims. I even managed to take revenge on some, but well, I still need victories for accomplishing this bloody mission.

Nah, there is just no point in playing it when you have an F2A-1 in your hangar as an alternative, for the sake of better results.
