It takes a brave moderator not to be a hero in Soviet WG.

I-16-29 is crap and it is not worth buying it. Also why would anybody give money for tier 2 or tier 3 planes?

Not that I would expect it to be accurate, but the WoWP wiki page says that it was a reward for beta testers. I thought I wasn’t making it up!
http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Plane:I-15bis-dm2
More pertinently, it’s interesting that WoWP chose to bundle this rare tier 3 aircraft in with three others of fairly average performance and ask £20+ for it without providing an option for the rare one to be purchased independently. It’s this kind of marketing makes companies look like they’re money-grubbing.

Christ, no wonder people are mistaking when even the official wiki is wrong. (Just one more thing wrong with this game, lol.)
This is the true, official news piece about the giveaway: https://worldofwarpl...wg-anniversary/
The plane was given for the 15th WG birthday. Game was in open beta at that point, so you didn't have to apply/be accepted etc.

Here are the exact planes rewarded for beta and how people earned them: https://worldofwarpl...ipe-details/#1
Thing to remember with the wiki page is that anyone can edit it ;)

So, to recap, a desirable aircraft formerly available only as a reward on one occasion some years ago is now available for £20+ with some rather less desirable aircraft thrown in as a makeweight. I remain slightly less than impressed with the marketing decision. It would have been pleasant if there had been an option to buy the desirable aircraft by itself.
I might have bought that aircraft given the latter option. Though I’m no stranger to throwing quite a bit of money at WG games, I decline the current offer.

Not wanting to add salt to the wounds, but I can confirm I-15-DM2 is nice plane, my fallback plan for doing low tier 'dailies'
Not worth the pricetag alone ofc.

Hi Eeekeeboo (quoted to get your attention!), can we get some clarity on what happens if we buy the bundle, but already have some of the aircraft, do we get the all 4 pilots, or just ones for the aircraft we hadn't got, we seem to get Gold for the aircraft we already have, which is great, just the other info would be nice to be confirmed. Thx
#16 Posted 14 July 2018 - 09:21 AM
In the interests of being clear, I have purchased this bundle. I realised I had one of the Polikarpov aircraft in the bundle already and as it comes with 3,300 gold, I assumed I would receive extra gold in compensation for the aircraft I possessed. That was correct, so this has made the bundle useful to me. Those are quite specific circumstances, but it's only fair I explain myself having complained about the marketing decision behind this bundle. WG wins!
The I-15bis DM is the aircraft of interest and I will say that, for a tier 3 plane, it earns an impressive amount of credits (12K pp is around 110K credits, 20K pp is around 160K credits).

Hello sorry, quoting me doesn't always get my attention. If you can just poke me. I go through forum threads when I remember to do, but you grabbed me outside of work too! As Q states below if you purchase aircraft (premium) from the premium shop but own the aircraft you get the gold value of that aircraft. The only exception is if the aircraft is on a huge discount you get the monetary discounted value of gold for that aircraft to prevent abuse. For example if the plane you own is on sale, you buy it on a 75% sale. You will not get the full gold value, but the 75% gold value.
Hope that helps.

Polikarpov I-15bis DM-2 is true gem and powerful plane for its tier.
Using additional scramjet trust for vertical manouvers makes true distinction for a biplane.
I am grateful for WG giving us opportunity to buy thus ultra - rare plane .
Putting it in a package with 3 more planes was fair from WG, this way plane will be bough only by people who desire it enough.
I already own other 3 Polikarpovs, but bough 4 plane package just to get this one gem.
Fair deal.
I will buy any package with one ultra-rare gem in it no metter the price or composition of package.
