An airfield: when is it a sector, and when a plain airfield?

I can't figure this one out.

 

Daily missions requirements: one is "defend airfields", the other "defend sectors". I play with the same plane, participate in the capture and then defend it. All the games, more or less the same effectiveness.

 

"Defend airfields" give me, let's say, ~1k points, but the "defend sectors" sometimes give me 0, sometimes the same as def airfields. So sometimes the game counts the airfield as a sector, sometimes not. (and no, it's not linked to repair facilities).

 

Anyone?

For each defensive kill you should get around 200 personal points. You have that information in report after battle. I believe you get some for damage, or maybe not. That damage is maybe for all of sectors, and kills for specific ones. I probably have to play some battle, so I can check the report. 

 

Also you shouldn't confuse airfield and airstrip. They are different type of sectors. But for some missions they counted both. 

 

Well there are some bugs. Some of them help us, others do not.

To progress in those missions you need to kill enemy planes inside the circle when the sector is yours but AFTER the lockdown. You know, everytime you capture or flip one sector there is a 30 sec lockdown. Kills on that lockdown usually don't count.

 

Also, a kill count +200 points, an assist +75 points and a large assist (more than 50% damage) count +125 points.

Airfields

  • Forward Airstrip

    - A selectable respawn point from which you re-enter combat if your aircraft is destroyed 
    - Provides 3 influence points every 5 seconds
    - Repairs your aircraft and removes critical damage
  • Staging Airfield

    - A selectable respawn point from which you re-enter combat if your aircraft is destroyed 
    - Decreases respawn timer by 10 sec. 
    - Provides 3 influence points every 5 sec. 
    - Repairs your aircraft and removes critical damage
  • Airbase

    - Allows controlling team to change aircraft type and class -- use the tactical screen to select battle-ready aircraft from your Hangar suitable for the specific level of the ongoing battle
    - A selectable respawn point from which you re-enter combat if your aircraft is destroyed • Decreases respawn timer by 10 sec.
    - Repairs your aircraft and removes critical damage

As mentioned above you have to read the mission text carefully as the conditions can be somewhat pesky!

@ eekeeboo the overview is nice, but for as far as i know forward airstrips never have a repair base- at least on EU (not sure on other servers). The staging airfield is also not indicated different from an airstrip & doesnt provide repairs either.

 

Correct me if i'm wrong

Well eekeeboo, while that all is a sort of satisfactory answer, the information on that site is just plain wrong.

 

Forward airstrip: Has a picture of a slim aircraft. Does never provide repairs. 
Reduces respawn by 10s if held. 

 

Staging airfield: Doesnt exist. 

 

Airbase: Has a picture of a twin engine heavy aircraft. 

Provides repairs if the repair base is not damaged. 

Reduces respawn by 10s if held. 

In addition to that; the info on the mining there is wrong (it provides 80 points per 90s, not 100), the refinery and industrial depot donnot exist and many other aspects of that article refer to pre-2.0 gameplay. 

I am currently working on the incredibly tedious process of reworking the wiki, but all of this stuff needs to go or be revised because it just incorrect information as of 2.0

Confirmed information on airfields and the EU notes will be changed to make sure. After checking staging airfield was removed and it was kept as 2 different types of airfields.
