So I spec'd my HG II, it is glorious. Going from specialist 262 to non specialist HG II (and anything less than top config) was awkward and I couldn't perform. Now with all my equipment from the 262 it really does feel like a completely different aircraft. The overall speed is on average about 100km/h faster than the 262, but the guns are so much better now. I feel WG should have made the T8 262 with 2x or 4x MG-213Cs. Even if the guns are OP at T8, make the overheating rate a lot higher then or something.

In my view, if it weren't for the Gutless the tier 10 Me 262 would easily be the worst tier 10 aircraft in the game.

After flying some time on X tier I consider HGIII well better than the rest 2 HF in the game.

But maybe it is just me.

Despite my dislike for the 262, I'm still working towards the HG II ... almost there.

What I dislike most are the guns even with GOA. But the next one has the 20mm's that I already know from the P.1092, so I hope that will be an improvement.

Which slots does the HG II have ??

Guns, two engines, airframe and aim.

And go to the third guns, 30mms. They are immensely better then those on 262.

The tier 9 is the sweet spot of the Me 262s, I think, but even so I can't bear the thought of playing it.  If I did, probably I'd play it stock with the 20 mms since I think the top 30 mms are horrible.  The tier 10...just no.

This plane left me cold. Couldn't enjoy it at all. No idea why. Same with the Mig-9. Enjoy the Ta-183 though. Go figure, I can't explain it either.

It's the play style. HG II is one of the ultimate Heavies, requires slower but more deliberate moves. Ta-183 is a flea, great for going crazy with a lot of fast maneuvers, and you like this way of playing more.

Ah, I see I already have the 30mm's too. Same as on the P.1102B GA ... we'll see, 20mm's look good ; better range and high ROF.

And indeed, flying heavies takes a lot of adapting, discipline and patience (for me, that is).

Oh, and those nice air-to-air rockets on the tier 9?  You lose them on the tier 10 to make it even more of a lumbering pig.

Not interested in the tier X, but the tier IX looks in any case better than the tier VIII ...

Update ; got the HG II ... nice. The 20mm's are OK, but if you go bomber-hunting the 30mm's are more effective (and better than the ones on the Schwalbe).

Only problem is that bot-bombers can out-maneuver me with their gravity-defying moves.

On HG II, those 20 mm guns have lost their attractiveness from the days of old, when you had to deal only with fast moving smaller planes. They were the preferred guns before the bombers, for the more maneuvering targets.

Now your main task is to kill those nasty fast bombers and GAA, also fat big targets. They should be your primary targets, and your playstyle must be calmer, more deliberate, disciplined, planned.

Other HF's, MFs and Lights are your secondary objectives. Knock them down when the opportunity arises but don't plan anything on them, they are less important and might as well be ignored - cause losing time with them will prevent you to do your role, as described in the sentence above.

For your main task you need alpha hitting power and these top 30 mms do provide it quite fine.

So far my targets are bombers and heavies going after my bombers ... and even fighters that in this game manage to get up to over 3-4km !?

Those fighters - there seem to be occasional ADA Spitfires up there, with 100% incendiary ammo too.  At least, that's how one of the battles tonight felt - must take moar in-game pics.

For Demokan, this forum's Little Prince - GL & HF in your very own P38F

Zen's right about your primary targets and the 30 mms, as horrible as they are, are the right choice for that job.

Not only that, there are bots in BV.210 and F-84B that manage to keep up and even gain on me to shoot me down ?!? While their speed and boost are both vastly inferior ...

Goner mate, seems like you've installed the wrong client of the game, WoWPHVfGO (World of Warplanes Special Horror Version for Goner Only)
