Shouldn't resistance to explosions also be increased on attack bombers ? Just like GA ?

Since they also are close to their own explosions ...

 

from patchnotes 2.0.6 :

 

Damage model:

• The chance of damaging an aircraft with an explosion from bombs dropped at a low altitude was increased, especially for large-calibre bombs.
•  
• The attack aircraft’s resistance to bomb and rocket explosion damage was increased, as this type of aircraft is in the immediate proximity of the targets being bombed. It became more difficult to destroy the attack aircraft with a bomb explosion.

Bombers' Altitude:

• The speed of all classic bombers was reduced for heights below their optimal altitude. This makes their interception at low altitudes easier.
•  
• Bombers with the ability to launch offensives, the A-26B and Pe-2 in particular, will still be able to fly at low altitude, maintaining high speed (for their type) and maneuverability characteristics. In this case, the altitude of such bombers is now less than that of classic models.

The idea being the bombers shouldn't be able to skim the ground like they could before meaning all the rear gunners could aim up and going lower than them = bomb trapping.

Sorry, I don't get it ... could you clarify ?

 

What I meant was that I think my Pe-2 should be able to drop bombs from an altitude where my GA (Hs-129A, IL's) and MR (like P-47 or Beaufighter) can drop without blowing themselves up.

​If you're outside of the explosion radius of the bomb, your Pe-2 will not take damage from the bombs.

Let me put it this way ; why is the Pe-2 (bombers in general ?) more vulnerable to bomb explosions than other planes that I fly to drop from low alt ??

Multiroles and heavies with big bombs have the same problem now. I damage myself pretty often flying them. This should be changed back.

The only planes less vulnerable are GAA, because of the tendency for high alt bombing to hit you in the face without intention. While also prompting people to not fly 50m or less as was the case before when low alt bombing was an issue. 

 

A Pe2 with it's dive bombing potential is more than capable of landing those diving attacks without being anywhere near close enough to hit itself with blast radius.

MR, HF and LF weren't made more vulnerable, they're the same as they have always been.
