This is 2019 (nearly), not 1939.  Emblems such as the following, on offer as a reward for a New Year mission:

are simply not appropriate any longer.  These demeaning and offensive caricatures of women should be dropped from the game as soon as possible.

Above is an example of the attitude in ignorant boys these degrading emblems encourage.  This is exactly why they should be removed.

Moral police now active in WoWp ?

I guess this is really the end now.

"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush his achievement and remove all record of his very existence. From that defeat there is no recovery. That is the meaning of victory."

I agree, they should also give a sticker with a barrel chested man with plenty of chest hair and epic biceps for our pilot girls!

Have to agree with RFC, and while we're at it the Christmas event needs removing so as not to offend those who dont celebrate it, it's not New Year for everyone across the world and dont get any funny ideas about Easter specials either.

It's about time we had gender neutral pilots as well.

This is pinup, such emblems were actively used in the WWII aviation, WoWP is dedicated to that epoch, so you don't have to make up scary stories. There is only historical authenticity and no offensive.  Already removed but for another reason.

That is nonsense.  Show me where this emblem was used historically.

Since you can't, I am stating that there is no reason to introduce lewd, titillating caricatures of women into the game.  In any case, the "historical authenticity" argument is cant in these days of #MeToo.  Remove all of these offensive emblems now, please.

You don't get it, man. Sorry, person.

This is an Awareness Raising campaign. Why is this girl so scantily dressed? Might it be a gender pay gap? She doesn't have the money to buy fancy leather pilot clothes like her male colleagues.

Also, if any other girl was forced to ride a tree on NY eve, here's an opportunity for a #MeTooTree.

I meant that such style was used, not exactly emblem. And I would recommend you to recheck  the news

"Since the Egyptians had their chariots, the Vikings had their ships and the Zulu warriors had their shields, man has been decorating his instruments of war. War art traditionally served as a protection from evil, to receive supernatural powers from the gods and give a noble identity to each warrior. Come the twentieth century, the tradition continued, but things got a little less, well … noble.

The modern vehicle of war and the warrior’s canvas became the airplane, and the art primarily reflected one thing in particular: a soldier’s sexual deprivation.

Female pin-up art dominated World War II nose art, seeing its Golden Age through the Korean War, tolerated by Army Air Force officials to help boost the morale of the soldiers fighting in stressful wars with high probabilities of death.

The female pin-up was represented in various stages of dress and undress, pushing the limits of decency to the maximum. Some nose art showed an extreme lack of restraint; a multicoloured array of male chauvinism and even racial stereotyping.

While nose art also took on other forms and had some notable cartoon art, graffiti and beautiful typography, the pin-up was their battle cry. The more imaginative, provocative and even offensive, the more it reflected the soldier’s wild abandon to intimidate and tease the enemy.

Lastly, the unique flying girls also helped provide each plane with its own personality and hopefully with a bit of good luck. They made the aircrafts easier to identify than using just the serial numbers, so when you saw the Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby returning from a bombing run, you would immediately be able to know your buddies had made it back safely."

Man you shot the biggest own goal ever...

They can't - we payed real money for them :teethhappy:

Seriously - I think the "historical authenticity" argument is valid - not only for particular pictures but in general for pinup art. In this case it went a bit far and I guess there were never pinup girls on japanese planes but whatever.

Now I really want a guy riding this tree. You can also make one with a sixpack but I want one with a beer belly and hair on the chest:D
