Is it just me or are most heavy fighters unable to climb to an altitude where they are effective against a bomber... Their airspeed drops so massively at higher alts that there really is no point in chasing after any proficient bomber pilot. Since this game is a little rock paper scissors. Heavy fighters being the scissors and bombers being paper youd think they would at least be able to get close enough...

Generally, if a bomber is above the maximum ceiling of a heavy fighter it becomes slow and and inaccurate.  It's better to find another target than try to climb after an ineffective opponent.  There are some bombers that are a nuisance though; the He 111 H-2 comes to mind, for instance.

This depends on the heavy. Not all of them can climb high.

You could also try some fighters ... the Bf109's are pretty good at bomber hunting at alt.

But when a bomber really goes into the stratosphere, it's impossible to reach and a waste of time.
