Tier VIII is pretty expensive ...  but there's a Seafang special that looks OK ; https://eu.wargaming...specials/11871/

I noticed that, after checking out the premiums, but €/£ approx 40 is maybe acceptable, considering the 5000 gold? (32% off)

I've had these thoughts too, thinking about a premium one as I'm far from T8 in the techtree.

Besides making silver and completing missions, T8 premium planes are fantastic crew trainers.

Maybe you don't know that you can take any pilot and place him in any premium plane of the same nation, without any restrictions. There he'll gather experience far faster than in his regular plane. So when deciding which will be your prem money maker, I would strongly advice to buy one from your preferred nation.

Coming into this game I bought the Seafang and the ME109TL both are very nice planes and good credit earners, they helped pay for a lot of aircraft and updates as I started grinding the trees, though the ME109TL is a little trickier to set up and play properly.

With the Seafang the cannons overheat quickly, so learn to use short bursts

Didn't know that. Lots of stuff are still to be discovered for me. Thanks for the tip!

I didn't know that for a long time.

It's a great feature of premiums ... just put a pilot in the premium and do NOT retrain him !! Just let him gather experience and when he's good, put him back in his own plane (or another, but then you have to retrain him for that plane).

But there is a catch - when he is not at 100% he doesn't get the full xp in the premium plane or something like this ?

Currently, the short break I believed I was taking from the game has turned into a longer one.  I still have no appetite for the game in its current condition and therefore I have no plans to return.  I dare say something will draw me back eventually.

Well, decided to sell the murikan planes I got from the santa bags and rebought the tier 2-5 IJA planes along with the Ki-93, so my goal is pretty much completed.

Time to get started on getting the IJA fighters specialist and some equipment for the heavy.

Yep...it's really getting annoying...plus disconnecting after a game and having to log back in, just eats up my little spare time to play.

Oh, but they can .. never been one-shot from a mile away by a Yak-7 or -9 ?? They probably have laser-sights.

and remember: it always takes two for a ram :)

There is an art to flying, or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. ... Clearly, it is this second part, the missing, that presents the difficulties (Douglas Adams - Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy)

My personal goal is simple:  Get Vampire by any means possible ( not really including buying tokens) but I am not shy to token (verb) my way throught medal missions, so mostly ... farm tokens.

Thats not entirely true (ok, in the literal meaning it is...)

If two heavies go head on and one of them wants to ram then the other one cannot avoid it.

In a vertical headon the one climbing has only little cance to avoid a ram and will loose its chance to fire at the other one when trying to avoid the ram. This depends mostly on the one coming down.

I find it happens a lot in the ME262, for some reason people seem to love coming at you head on, getting less of a problem now because I have the female pilot (head on firepower buff) and the rockets.

I found trying to go over or under always results in a collision in the ME262, maybe something to do with the closing speed?, or maybe my reactions are too slow, or as you say someone wants to ram you.

That reason is called rockets. (oh, and superior but slow flying shells, ideal for haed-on)

edit

Sorry, thought you were talking about people in 262 coming head-on to you. So for all the people who fly against 262, read the first sentence carefully :teethhappy:
