The first goal from the OP reached, Sabre :-)

My first and only game so far, with pilot 90%. Not bad at all, ultra-Mustang.

Spoiler

PS

I thought I'd research it sooner, but got slowed down with a bunch of kids flying behind me and stealing my kills.

Having read the disappointing notes for patch 2.0.9.6, it appears my goal remains to not play the game.

That reason is called rockets. (oh, and superior but slow flying shells, ideal for haed-on)

edit

Sorry, thought you were talking about people in 262 coming head-on to you. So for all the people who fly against 262, read the first sentence carefully :teethhappy:

Oh I love the rockets on the ME262 and BV P.210 :D, but yeah seem to have more people coming at me head on when I'm flying the ME262 for some reason, think it happens with the faster aircraft come to think of it.

Had one guy rant at me for "ramming" him twice, fact was on both occasions he came at me head on, and I was trying to go up and over, but...closing speed it's hard to judge (this was pre rocket build, these days BOOM! and fly through his wreckage, I'd imagine he'd complain about that too)

Having a comeback to the game after couple of years, i want to research the fighters and multiroles line from USA (currently near having p-51D) and also reasearch the fighter and multirole lines on UK (currently Spit IX and Hurricane II)...it will be  along way for me to reach these goals but so far that's what i have in plan...Last but not least, making dailies and unlock the Ascender and Vampire.

I'm looking forward for these, because for me it's a really fun game and i can pay attention more to details, play styles and try to be a better player than i ever had in the past since open beta now that i have better pc and having a good experience in-game (rarely having those bugs that people complain about them, but doesn't bother me too much to not give myself some fun time and quality time in-game)..

Hope the game will be better and better and not getting shut down by WG, for me is way better than pre 2.0 in my opinion and i will try and support the game as much as i can and after some in-game experience to support new players and giving them pertinent advice and reasons to play it and have a good experience despite those bugs, i'm trying to be optimistic and not be frustrated by some bugs, still is a game after all and i wish i will make a difference in the community and be constructive and open-minded.

See you in game and have a good flying mates!:great:

Started the XP55 missions... that's like the only objective atm. Maybe work more on the multirole line for UK and US, but i'm not that into them

I’m working on getting an ace in the SU-130 PM.*

* For newer players, let me explain that’s a tank destroyer in World Of Tanks.

I'm completely new to this game. (have played WoT and WoWS since closed beta though)

Don't really know why I've put this off for so long. But seems like quite fun to play this game. Seems quite hard to win but I guess that's normal for any new player.

My personal goal is just to learn to play the game for a start. Hopefully I'll get better at it and start contributing to wins :)

It's going to take a while to figure out what all the planes I face are capable of and how they relate to what it is i'm flying in.

It's a bit chaotic at the moment trying to figure out what it is I'm supposed to be doing.

Bombers seems to be my cup of tea although I haven't gotten one yet. I'm holding off on premiums until I figure this game out a little more first.

It's difficult for everybody (except maybe some players who can carry a battle, but even then ..). Mostly it's just a case of randomly put together teams. Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you're not.

Try reading the guides in the newcomer forum here and on the NA forum for the different plane types and see what appeals to you.

Also the developer blogs on the site explain some elements of the game ; https://blog.worldofwarplanes.eu/

and pilot school : https://worldofwarpl...a/#pilot-school

If you are trying to figure out what suits you, try all the types of planes (light fighters, heavy fighters, multirole fighters, attack aircrafts and bombers)  and also all the types of play style ("turn and burn" for high maneuverability dogfighting, ...."zoom and boom" for attack from above keeping the momentum of your planes and come back at high altitude and repeat..this is for heavy fighters most of the time with not good maneuverability for dogfighting and of course ground attacking wich is self explanatory)...keep in mind that some light fighters ar not so good at dogfighting and should be played more in "zoom and boom" style....the majority of multiroles are a mix of ground attackers and dogfighting or zoom and boom but mostly are more in "zoom and boom" type.....These are most common things you will observe in the game and should know very well from the start, it's a priority for understanding and learning aircrafts before you move on to more complex achievements...when to attack, when to defend sectors etc....Also check the stats of the planes you are encounter with yours and compare them, then you decide what to do and how to fight....

Have a good hunting mate and see you in game perhaps! Best of luck!

I would add that low tiers I-III it's mostly "tail-chasing" dogfights  and may seem like all the same. Don't let yourself to deter you, maybe get FW-57 heavy, just to try some variability.

That FW-57 it so hard to maneuver...but still is a good first heavy as armament.

The FW 57 has a powerful rear gunner too.
Please have patience with my spelling/language. English is not my native tounge.

Finally both planes from the OP acquired. This one took much longer than expected ("damn kids flying behind me stealing my kills":teethhappy:), got distracted in other lines.

The grind is finally over. I have all the planes I wanted to have. From now on, until some other interesting line appears, it's joyrides and specializations.

Well, having played the Me 210, formerly the rarest aircraft in the game, and the Spitfire Ia with its mean Dunkirk pilot last night, I may very well dabble in the game for a while now; see what I can specialise, that kind of thing.  I aced the SU-130PM and a few other tanks (I’m looking at you, Rhein-Metall Borsig Waffenträger) that I could never ace in my previous stint in World Of Tanks, so maybe now’s the time to play a little planes.

I've seen you Yesterday flying this Mig-15 bis. I hope I'll grind to that toy soon. It should be a great killing machine.

It is.

We met at my very first battle in it. All stock (without any equipment, consumables, nothing - and pilot 90% fresh from MiG-9). When I placed Lightweight Frame and Engine turn rate went from 61 to 69 even before specializing with bonuses working. And immediately I got my first Ace :teethhappy:

It's a good one.

Congrats!

Personally I'm still not very interested in tier IX and X. My highest planes are now I-250 and Yak-19,  the P.210, FJ-1 and F2H, Ki-162 and Attacker and Sea Hawk but I rarely play them lately. The bots there are supernatural and hardly a human in sight.

Because of few players the matchmaking is atrocious, constantly fighting higher tier specialists in flights, mostly in planes that are great for killing me ; so I'm flying my IL-40 vs 2 heavies ... great fun.
