Or rather, a decision.

Thinking of my next tier X (only have Yak-30), but with a price of 6.000.000 I'd like to make the right choice.

Mig-15bis - still a while to go (so I can save up on credits)

XF-90 - almost there

F-86 - getting there, but still some exp to go

From what I've encountered, the Mig looks popular (and dangerous). Haven't see many XF-90 and only flown by pilots who don't know how to fly it (has to be, if I can kill it with Mig-9 or F2H).

Depends on what you like to do.

MiG-15 is generally quite good, can handle the deck and soar high to end an already damaged bomber. Good firepower, climb, speed.

F-86 is a hyper-Mustang. If you're fan of US machine guns (weakish damage but constant burst) go for it. If you were sick with Mustangs and FJ-1, don't. FJ-1 is a good indicator how it will perform.

XF-90 is a beast. You will lose every turning dogfight guaranteed, but it's high flying pick-your-own-time-and-approach monster in making life miserable for bombers and unsuspecting hf/gaa. It's exactly like F2H only better in every aspect.

I love all three. If I am forced to keep only one, it would be XF-90.

Hope this helps.

With a maneuverability of 27, I'm not going to turn ... with anything.

I dont like the Sabre at all...and its sad because it was my first tier 10...

MiG-15 is good...the best heavy fighter hunter in the game but first couple of games will be hard because you need more lead on the guns (because of the higher speeds the t10 planes fly on)...your 37 is the main source of damage and needs time getting used to it.

XF-90....ow boy...me highest performance plane...only have it 2 months and its my go-to....every medal farmer. You dont need to outurn anyone when you can outspeed everything by a mile!! The only planes that threaten an XF-90s game is another XF-90 and a specialist MiG-15...

http://prntscr.com/o5a3es  ...Obviosly is not an easy plane and the reason why you are underwhelmed by other people is because you havent seen me in it  ;):P:medal:

EDIT: Dont look at the general number the game gives...its missleading, there is a small triangle next to every characteristic (lets say speed). If you press it, more in deapth information will appear (like boost, cruise speed, boost speed, dive speed). You can also see these extra info in a plane you dont own by right clicking on it and pressing "aircraft details"

Yes the XF-90 is brilliant, it turns like a planet, but has such nice guns, just gain altitude and smash bombers and the occasional heavy who try's to test you...

Oh yeah and this thing just throws medals at you all day long :)

Su-10 so you can kill all pesky FX-90 coming for you?

I've got the Su-10 for 80% discount, but have hardly flown it ... and so far the XF-90's killed me.

Only other tier X I have is the Yak-30, which is very maneuverable but not fast. So, as said, now trying to decide what to get next ... the XF-90's speed and guns sound good.

Xf-90 is insanely fast, you'll be leaning on your airbrakes a lot! So I wouldn't go above engine guru 1 on the pilot. But definitely marksman 1 & 2 and binoculars to spot bombers.

I didn't even bother with the bombs as I was always at 3-4 thousands meters.

It turns like an ocean liner but that's mainly because it's so fast.

Have you already made your decision?

If not i would recommend the Mig 15 bis - i really like that one, even more than the Me P.1101

The Sabre isn´t bad either but comparing to the Mig, the weapons are much weaker on the Sabre.

True about what people say about the XF90 - but the Mig would be still my fav.

Im curious which one you picked

There is an art to flying, or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. ... Clearly, it is this second part, the missing, that presents the difficulties (Douglas Adams - Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy)

My favorite is the Me. It has the best LF guns so far.

It's going to be the Mig-15bis ... plane suits my 'play style' best. It's fast, has good altitude and is reasonably maneuverable. I can hit stuff with the 37mm on the Mig-9, don't know if more speed will make aiming more difficult. Just have to pick a pilot from a lower tier with skills like aerodynamics and marksman.

I now specced the Banshee, but don't know if I would like to fly the XF-90.

Maybe I'll try the Me line next, currently at 209A but have researched the P.1092 ...

This, and only this, should be the deciding factor. :honoring:

If you don't like the way you have to play Banshee, do not go XF-90. It's exactly the same style. Regardless of being a monster and all.

That's a real dilemma ; I do reasonably well in the Banshee, but I don't particularly like flying it ... :)

It's not the issue can you do reasonably well in a plane (I've flown with/against you, you can in everything I saw you) but do you like playing that style.

This is from a guy who will not go to Me p.1101. I can do reasonably well on 1092 but somehow don't like the playstyle. Knowing perfectly well other guys here absolutely rock with that plane - it's simply "not my cup of tea". And for me the enjoyment in flying a certain plane/class should be the only deciding factor.

This is why I'm starting to have a weird hankering for the Sabre, somehow i like short range Daka Daka

Less weapons cool-down/overheating and less kills being stolen...

Also its iconic

I never got past tier 6 on the Mig Line maybe its not my playstyle either,

I like ultra maneuverability on fighters unfortunately the Japanese fighter line went downhill after tier 7 for me.

So maybe I might go for the Sabre, even though I hear its a little weak

Sabre is wonderful.

It has weak guns - only six .50s,  the weakest armament of any Tier 10. But you can not overheat them. (well you can after a full minute or so :hiding:). And it's fast and nimble and has great ceiling and looks majestic and iconic and all... somehow it has "now this is a proper fighter plane" feel.

It is an ultra-Mustang. Feels almost exactly as P-80, flies like it and have an exact role. You can reach every spot you want and make your presence felt.

For me, the best element is: you will NEVER have this awful moment when you have the target in your sights, you stay and stay on his six, but must wait for guns to cool down.

I love it to bits.

Thanks Zen_

I'm gonna do it after reading this. half way to the XF-90 as well, I just gotta make sure my hangar isn't flooded with Yankee tier 10's

OK, so I got the Mig-15bis.

It, erm ...  takes some getting used to.

Also starting to doubt if I really belong at tier X ... all those specced XF-90's and Yak-30's !
