Edit. - It is a skills indicator. - in fact it's "Engine Guru" (a cog. Of course.)

So I have a pilot, and when I open his crew data I see his proficiency, skills and what XP he has.

This pilot also seems to have two cogs. One silver and one gold. Does this indicate aircraft he has qualified in? (I may have transferred him at some point, can't remember)

Screenshot ?

Maybe his rank ? The more exp points (skills) a pilot gets the higher his rank.
