Since it seems there is no way to track progress in the game, I thought I'd register my progress here and others (that's you Goner) can add their updates if they feel like sharing (or not)

 

Three quick J7W2 (Tier IX) games at lunchtime resulted in three Tier X match ups, three loses and a disappointing average of around 8K PP per game (One top ranking earned me 100K so that was OK)

 

I saw 0, 1 or 2 other human J7 players in each game

15 Games played, 158K PP and a best score of 17K

 

How are others doing?

Repying to my own thread is a bit sad but hopefully the lack of input means no one else is trying too hard

 

End of Day 2 and 320K total (from 30 games) and a high score of 18K

Pretty sure I've hit the 20 game minimum limit. Highest score about 12k pp, average about 9-10k I reckon, steady progress.

Managed to specialise the F86 Sabre today which was nice 157 kills in 6 hours  tough plane but when "specced" its indescribably awesome  

 

The virtual rivers are flowing with blood I'm a "e" war criminal

Sorry but this means the owners of this plane are just trying hard to accomplish their missions. I saw quite a lot of them, but none of those I recognized as (english) forumites.

Yeah, I saw quite a few (specialized Tier X) today

I ended up on just under 500K PP and 18K as my best individual score - fingers crossed

 

Regardless, it was fun and I got the J7W2 specialized; with a fully upgraded gun sight and gas operated action for rate of fire it is a real GAA killer! (And anything else it hits for that matter)

I probably got a bit less total, but high was also 12k.

Stopped after about 25 games, when I saw all the scores by the J7W3 aces. Up to >20K ... 

 

But used right it is a real killer, especially GA and low bombers. Turnfighting didn't go well, even in a specced J7W1, leading those 30mm's is pretty hard.

 

EDIT: just saw in ratings that my WR yesterday was 30% ... had some godawful matchmaking this weekend. Worse than normal ... imagine !!

I will never understand why they reduced maneuverability on the J7W1 AND J7W3!!! This plane had 2 basic advantages guns and maneuverability compared to speed and altitude of other planes, so it was kind of a balance. Now it's just a sitting duck!!! All you have left are 1 or 2 GAA in the game. Forget high flying bombers, you can't get to them. So it's no surprise very few people fly this plane anymore. What can you do with firepower in a dog fight when you can't get into position to use it. No speed, no altitude, no maneuverability and you want me to fly this plane? Another mistake along side many in 2.0.

I made acquaintance with some J7 pilots who had a flight buddy with them, usually in another Jap plane. They all used the same tactics - one baited you and the other one got you. Quite efficient team works. Flying alone in those planes generally doesn't seem to be a great idea.

Actually, I was surprised by the number of J7W3's I encountered this weekend.

And even more by the scores they got !!
