WG did a caricatural, almost an insulting job here. The iconic jaws of the Flying Tigers are just generic "one size fits all" type. So if you want the true ones, here they are. Along with a several nods to the AVG, the Group Commander Claire Chennault etc. The jaws and eyes here were copy/pasted from the photo of a real museum plane, so 100% authentic.

Here's how this stock skin now looks like.

And this is how it looked

what a pretty smile :D
There is an art to flying, or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. ... Clearly, it is this second part, the missing, that presents the difficulties (Douglas Adams - Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy)

It's a really nice plane to fly too!

It takes some practice and getting used to, but the P-40 versions are fine. Even the Model 81 ...

I like the US P40, with 6 of the .50 cals it rips up enemies just fine. I see no point in the chinese one, with only 2 of them and 4x7.7.

Chinese one is more maneuverable and the guns shoot for a very long time before overheating, it's a better plane.

Haven't tried it yet, it's cheapish though, so why not. I'm not at home now so I can only compare them from the WG website, but they seem to have the same manoverability to me. Even the USSR one has the same numbers, but much worse altitude. Remembet I've got that one in a santa bag or crate but didn't like it, but I was a seal back then... now I'm climbing to something between mediocre and average :D

Maneuverability on the website is the same, but the Tomahawk definitely turns better than the P-40 ; ran into a specialized one yesterday and killed him twice in turnfights (maybe he was just a bad pilot, but it looked like he really tried ...)

So they are!...my error. I was looking at the ones in my hanger and my Tomahawk is set up for better turning...plus the guns are better.

Oh well...carry on ripping!

*Probably* wasn't me - I was away on hol.   :D

Just wanted to say what an excellent skin zen_monk_ has created.  And add, along similar vein, that my solution was to modify the xmls to put:

Tomahawk IIb jaws on the M81A
P51K jaws on the P40 (not perfect, but looks very close to an illustration of a plane from 76th Squadron, 23rd Group)
P51D jaws on the P51K (cos the K jaws fit that^ a *whole lot* better than they do on the K)

Benefit is, I can still select the respective jaws Nose Art in the Paint Shop and not have to watch weird smiley mouth zooming around on my screen.  Thankfully.

Again, Great Skin - much appreciated!

When you first view this thread on a phone you see the Zen custom artwork and you think "oh yeah, that looks cool"

Then you scroll down and you see the image below it and fall off your chair laughing.
