The reason is so simple as to why there will never be any balance to each battle that involve jets.  In the beginning it was better balanced than it never can be now, simply because you had like for like planes against each other yeah you were against planes 1 or 2 tiers higher but planes of that era certainly up to VE and VA days.

Now these same planes of the 1940's are up against jets of the late 50's early 60's, meaning skills of dog fighting are lost due to the get out fast speeds of jets, which the prop planes cannot match, hence impossible to balance with this going on, only jet in Op's as far as I know was the Me 262 varients during WWII, other German jets never left the ground so IMO should not be in the air, nor indeed should any other, Vampire's are early 60's for God sake.

Game will stay permanently unbalanced and IMO ruined till these jets go on another part of the server like in Warthunder, they at least try to keep it real.

Gloster Meteor was widely used, so was Heinkel 162, well before the end of WW2. American P-80 was already in service, but didn't enter combat before the end of hostilities. Yes, prop planes were instantly outclassed by jets, and a lot of advanced prop designs were cancelled as soon as the war ended and there was no need for them. Everyone switched to jets, whenever it was possible - but prop planes were still used. They still are, in limited roles. Even the Vietnam War, much later than the period we have in the game, saw prop vs jet. It isn't possible to balance the two, just by definition.

The issue is about tier choices and stats attribution. When you have the clash of t7 with t8, or many t8 with t9, you're bound to run into the problem you are describing. Even then though, the prop planes can put up a fight, and can win battles. If you want to concentrate on dogfighting, fly planes designed to counter jets, like P-51H; other prop fighters are successful versus jets too. No, it's not nice, neither is it easy to find yourself in such a battle, but I wouldn't go as far as to call it a game-breaker (neither did you, granted). Take it as another level of challenge, is all.

P-51H is quite capable of putting manners on a 262.....I've done it many times this week.

In real life the sea fury is reputed to have shot down a mig.

Also during the world war of 2, there are numerous accounts of prop powered planes, downing jets.

Its the pilot that causes victory or defeat unless you take a tier 5 into a tier 10 battle

In which case the pilot is also at fault.

Yes interesting story,

Quoted from Wiki

"The F-11 Tiger is noted for being the first jet aircraft to shoot itself down.[3] On 21 September 1956, during a test-firing of its 20 mm (.79 in) cannons, pilot Tom Attridge fired two bursts midway through a shallow dive. As the velocity and trajectory of the cannon rounds decayed, they ultimately crossed paths with the Tiger as it continued its descent, disabling it and forcing Attridge to crash-land the aircraft; he survived."

All I can say is what a noob
