,,,distinguish between players and bots?

I know that bots have a single Name, but so do some players, and it's always clear which is which.

Any tipps? Do i miss something?

Also, as a suggestion, it'd be nice if WG would change the bot names, like they did in WoWS, where each bot has a colon before and after the :Name:.

It isn't only single, but it begun with capital letter and it is of same nationality as plane it's flying. You can check it by right clicking.

There is no reason to know who is bot and who is player. Just consider them all equal threat.

With a little experience you see the difference when you attack them. The most bots fly similar maneuvers.

The bots are the ones who manage to defy the laws of physics when you are on their tail blasting away at them.

The right click check is a good hint - press the Tab-Key to make the Teamlist appear on your screen, hold Tab then check with rightclick on the players name, if a menu appears where you can add/ignore/report and stuff its a human - no menu its a bot.

And there are reasons to know if its a bot or a player, as human players in many cases are more dangerous than bots - depending in what plane you are yourself and the enemy human is, you can decide to attack or better not.

There is an art to flying, or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. ... Clearly, it is this second part, the missing, that presents the difficulties (Douglas Adams - Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy)

mod is right here in the Mods forum : http://forum.worldof...os-the-ai-bots/

it puts an asterisk in front of bot names in team list and in battle.

That really pisses me off !!

You're on a bot's six and suddenly he slows down to zero speed and then disappears to suddenly appear on your tail !! Without speed he manages to keep circling and evading ..

Or the bot heavy fighter who one shots you from 1km away!

Not to mention the friendly bot who rams you, just as you are about to flip a base!

It's very easy to distinguish, no need for mod.

Bots always have names of the nation of the plane, simple first names. German bots are Hans, Otto, Kurt etc. Always simple and properly writen with first letter capital.

Players use weird lettering, almost always small first letter, a lot of _, numbers, or a strange words never used for names in rl... look at our names in this thread or here, see how easy it is to distinguish even at a quick glance.

or this one

This is why I am lucky to have  nickname with no numbers or hyphens  initially I slipped under the radar and appear as a Bot like Douglas who is a player!

Yep, some players managed to come up with some very bot-like names ...

But most use handles they probably also use in other games.

I actually tried to name my NA account :Kamchatka:, just for the reactions in chat when i'm in a Tier VIII random game, where no bots are allowed.

But WoWS naming convention prohibits this kind of thing. :(

1km distance is not the maximum for a bot in a Me 262 II, as I experienced the day before yesterday. In the moment I exploded, the distance meter was showing 1250m. So the moment he released his shot it must have been 1500m distance or more because we were moving head on. Just wow. I mean, WOW! :great:

Sometimes even this is not enough. I've been killed by some Ruskie mid-tier bots who fired a rocket while in sharp turns.

....except for any bot armed with a derp-gun (Yak-7, Yak-9 I'm looking at you) or rockets (that German multi role fighter batman plane with the silly name and even sillier shape.) - in which case bots are a much bigger threat than humans unless said human pilot has godlike aim. Like Zen and many others, I too have been caught in hard, fast maneuvering by derp guns and rockets fired by bots that no mortal human could ever have pulled off.

Also, you will know it's a bot when you think to yourself...."wait, I have one of those planes and I have never been able to get it up this high, what is it doing up here? How is it still outmaneuvering me?!!"

But yes, bots are the ones with names from the nations of the planes they are flying. They WILL fly Premium aircraft as well as tech tree ones, they never appear with specialized wings although one suspects that in addition to the various levels of AI that the aircraft also have level appropriate upgrades.
