Please tell me something good about his plane I've just got and played 2 battles in.  I suspect a 5 point pilot does not help (AE and MM1) - I kept my Typhoon so restarted a pilot for the Tempest.

Handling and speed wise it does not feel that bad stock (though I at tier 9 you have light fighters with almost the same speed and acceleration) but the guns, oh the guns - so much pain and no upgrades, nor any way to reduce the very quick over-heat.  To miss-quote Henry Harwood (at the Battle of the River Plate) it feels like I'm throwing snowballs ....

It leads to Hunter.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I vaguely remember the grind in it as not a pleasant one. A good and patient pilot (not me) will use it well, but all I remember is I was glad when the grind was over, got me a Hunter and kept this Sea Hawk only as "I have this plane too".

It's OK-ish, but not more imho. Took it out for a spin after I read the thread, The guns suck, Rockets OK but i prefer bombs. Slower than almost everything in T9. Still managed to win a T9/10 battle though... I had the same thought about the Tornado, haven't played it since I unlocked the Typhoon, I guess the Sea Hawk will remain unspecced at a dusty hangar slot after the Hunter is researched. Still need ~65k exp to unlock it.

It's tempting to add another naval quote:

"Engage the enemy more closely"

...but yes, I'm on the same grind.  I don't find the SeaHawk significantly worse than the Attacker; just hope the Hunter as reward is better than the Swift.  Oh, and as an Ethical Bot Employer I start a new pilot from scratch for each new aircraft (OK, with a quick boost to 90%) to maximise my staff head-count.  Some of us just love to make life difficult for ourselves, eh?

Just like the preceding planes it's good at destroying ground targets & competing GA and able to defend itself. It's not a dedicated fighter ... turns OK, but that's it.

Grind to Hunter was fast to my surprise, MR's are hard to grind because of the 'enemy kills' requirement. But I gave up on tier X for the time being ...

I am on the t8 Tempest right now and loving it. Haven't got a huge amount of time to play it at the moment though. Not sure if I will get the Sea Hawk. Not because I don't think it will be any good, I am sure it will be just fine when played as a multirole. But because right now, I don't want to play above t8.

At some point it will need to be researched and bought. No time soon though.

Mediocre plane. Not so fast, not so agile.

As bot, average challenge for better tier VIII planes.

Get Hunter and park in hangar.

I'd say the Sea Hawk is a work-a-day multirole.  If you happen to find the right niche in a battle it's serviceable, if you can't find that niche it's lacklustre.  The Tornado, though, mentioned above, is a beauty and a monster all rolled into one.

OK after 5 or 6 battles (always tier 10) I've learnt to cry.  Normally while waiting for the guns to cool down or to be allowed back in to the battle.

Spent 2 hours with the Sea Hawk to research the Hunter. I used a aircraft XP booster during those hours. No, i don't want to spend more time playing that one. It will sit in a dark corner of my hangar until I find myself with a ridiculous amount of tokens to spend on spec. The remaining AC XP time I spent with the 190D. Another MR I don't appreciate. Maybe it doesen't suit my playing. Lacks alt, turns like a HF, not really as fast as it should be. The whole 190 series does suck imo. Least worst is the 190 A5.

I played 4 hours (daylies, 5x) Sea Hawk to research the Hunter. For me fun to play. I hate the (Stock-) Typhoon.

Stock typhoon was terrible. Took me some time to warm to it.

Strongly agree with paca - I was really disappointed when I came back to the game and found that the finest 1940s-50s Hawker wasn't in Tier 9.  It obviously wouldn't be anything to do with the real-life record of the RN Sea Fury, which brought down a MiG15 and damaged 2-3 more in one Korean encounter (use duckduckgo.com to search for the story about Schmoo Ellis and 'Hoagy' Carmichael's encounter);  WG/pasha would never let such things cloud their judgement.

Right - thanks for the reminder, I'm off to continue the grind toward the Hunter.

edit: - have just had 2 more games.  The usual paucity of humans at this time of day (2 per side and 3 per side), but up against specialised 1092 and a combo specialised-Javelin and Sea Hawk it did pretty well.  Had a better score in the game I lost (I was lower tier), but overall not too shabby.  Perhaps the road to the Hunter won't be so dull after all.
