Will it make that much difference?  It's one of the most popular lines already.  It's not as if you're being rewarded for flying Spitfires, excepting the next aircraft will be a bit cheaper than usual.

I got Swift researched from times of pre-2.0, and still kinda dont wanna to play it :]] But maybe this event is a sign to buy it already.

By the way ... I would rather be IN the Spitfire than ON it when going into battle.

praa, what I think RoyalFC is saying here is that the reward does not, in his (and my) opinion, justify the research or expenditure.  After the delightful Attacker and the other excellent aircraft in the line, the Swift - like its real-life equivalent - is a huge let-down.  It would need someone like Apartclassic or equivalent (are there any other Unicorns out there?) to make it shine.  Then again, if you are sitting on a huge pile of credits - why not?  It's only a game :coin:

...and for GonerNL:

I know how it was meant by RoyalFlyingCorps :] but i think, I will buy it just for the lulz. I have plenty of credits. I mostly spend them on reassemblies and reseting pilot skills and such hangar-like gambling activities recently...

Oh, splitting the missions into different periods is a nice move, WG. Won't make everyone and their dog fly the same plane, though there will be high saturation of Spitfires, I presume - each period is covered with a part of this mission, which I like. One thing to point out though, the missions are sorted in order - therefore I would expect certain periods saturated on certain days. Expect a fun Sunday, chaps ;)

Step forward comparing to previous Top of the Tree - than tiers VIII-X had 15% discount, now they got 30% - nobody cared?

Good opportunity to specialize the Spitfire XIV although its pilot is on the Vampire now.

A specialised Swift is bearable.  Unspecialised, it's a dog.

In case of Swift, as well as other high tier armed with ADENs (or their predecessors, Mausers MK 213), guns draw them down.

ADEN cannon had up from 1200 rpm - 20 rounds per second, same for MK213.

In WoWP they are slow firing single shot guns highly dependent on RNG (Ta 152 also says hello).

Otherwise any plane armed with such death rays would wipe Sabre or MiG-15 out from the sky as soon, as targets would cross the line of fire.

Currently two best flying tier X light fighters are Sabre and MiG-15, legends of Korean war.

Sabre' machine guns are a laugh, Sabre with 4x20mm would be OP (and probably too advanced, it were versions E and F).

Also MiG-15' armament doesn't make an impression: N-37 37mm cannon had 400 rpm, 23mm cannons had 800 rpm. Not really impressive comparing to revolver 30mm cannons.

So to make sure that Korean War legends stay legends also in WoWP, revolver cannons are nerfed to the ground. Otherwise both of them would camp high, and mid air would be owned by Swifts and Hunters, with some presence of Fw 255, as they wouldn't even have to turn - one salvo would be enough.

Made the possible mistake of going for the bulldog - not many specialised planes there, but it's noticeable when you check the players on the community pages they are just newbie bashers - and also serial kill stealers, which makes things frustrating.  May go for the 146 instead and just hope I'm not uptiered too much
