When trying to get second Enhancement, I'm offered the exact same values as I already have.

Turns out I'll be paying coins and material for literally nothing.

What I did so far:

1. Enhanced Gunsight

2. Calibrated it pretty high (can't remember if it was to the max)

.. and now trying to enhance again.

Other components show possible difference, but this one is "stuck".

Any ideas?

1. Do not calibrate before taking it to tech level 400 (Ultimate); calibration does not carry over after Enhancing, you are wasting materials and money

2. For anything above tech level 200 (Improved) to take full effect and secondary bonuses to apply, you need to mount it on a specialized plane; if the plane is unspecialized, and you Enhance further than Improved, you will benefit only from the main bonuses, not the secondaries

3. You will see the secondary bonus only after Enhancing, as it is rolled from a pool of effects; you Enhance, game rolls the new effect - which you can opt to Reassemble for later on

I was just following the advice from YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HJ56TB-U9U) where the guy said enhance->calibrate->enhance so I did just that.

Well.... guess now I know more.

(The 2. and 3. I'm aware re. specialization, thanks. Just wanted to see the price here and was surprised with no-effect situation.)

I agree with apart, i guess that video was made when the system was new and we were all learning it. Enhance equipment to 200 until you specialise and then go to 400 where its more worthwhile trying to calibrate. To be honest I rarely calibrate even then.

There is an exception to this that I am happy with. If I'm not planning to specialize and therefore benefit from anything above "Improved" I am happy to spend some silver on a max calibration to get a small tweak on my performance.*

Psychologically for me at least this gives me a little lift. I'm not wearing target wings but my turning performance etc is maybe a little better than by opponent was expecting. (and yes, I do actually see a difference between "before and after" with gunsights especially the spread does narrow and hit chance appears to increase.

*Do not listen to my advice unless you have more silver/tokens than sense and don't care to be efficient.

There are a couple of aircraft I did this to which I've changed my mind about and might now specialize, but I am in a position to be able to afford silver and tokens where required. I don't go nuts with the equipment either so I'm quite well off for scrap materials right now too.
