OK, so I finally got it.

Now what do I do with it ? Anybody any experience with it yet ?

 

I have a 5 skillpoints (Beaufighter) crew from a recent event. The equipment that comes with it is all ultimate, so can not be used fully until specced, the sight can not even be used until the slot becomes available.

So no need for a Beaüty Fighter crew, slap your best pilot in.

Yeah, that is why I put that Beau crew that I haven't used yet in it. No retraining. And I'll free-xp to 6 points. 

My current Beau pilot is built for destruction, using it as a GA really.

 

I don't think I'll use the manual turret gunsight often in a heavy, too much flying to do. Gun laying looks better ; aiming speed and rate of fire. Then defensive fire and precision skills for the gunner. 

 

Not sure about pilot yet and engine slot.

Speed or some maneuverability ? Do you really need marksman with cowling mounted guns ?

First battle in it. Looks like the two guns here are more precise at long range, but when up-close and personal it lacks the broadside of the regular Beau.

 

A decent HF for tier 5, not great but not bad either.

Did you use the ultimate equipment that came with it ?

 

And what about skills ?

Oh I get it, we did get the stuff while marathoning. Haven't been paying attention nor have I registered they are in the rewards. Nope, used the regular Light Engine to 200 and quicker rear gunner to 200. This high end stuff I'll use somewhere else.

This plane kills Lights better, from further away. Almost a sniper. But for brawling with GAA and Bombers, it lacks the punch.

 

Feels like a Blenheim F, UK tier 4 HF, only a tier better.

Also killed a heavy or 2 and bombers. I remember a Me 110 that I hit in head-on and when we passed him, the gunner finished him off.

But haven't flown it a lot, so time will tell ...

I fly it completely different from the tech tree Beau ; always take ordnance and go demolish stuff, then hunting. 

This one is a hunter. Just be careful with P-38's and Beaufighters.

Not clearly OP as the regular Beau (i miss the ordnance, dammit), good guns and decent maneuverability. A sluggish multirole with outstanding guns but few capping capability.

It is good imho to have it in the game, cause it add even more variety to the most changing heavy fighters line in the game. Apart from tier 6 and 7, which are just the same plane, the Hornet being an overall upgrade of the Mossie, brit heavies are so much different in playstyle one from the other, and i have to admit i've loved them all (tier 9 is the only one i currently miss in the hangar). My favourite one is still the 1056, one of the few planes that can be interpreted (and equipped) in more than 2 different ways depending on the player's attitude and preference.

Fancy a mid altitude fast interceptor? Here's your 1056

Rather prefer a low altitude tanky GAs' hunter? Again, here's your tier 8 brit heavy.

Do you feel more comfortable in a tier 8 brawling SuperBeaufighter? Here you go, a shiny twin jet engined Beau!

I had such high hopes for the actual Brit-built real Swiss AF aircraft - the Hunter - but am happy to agree with you that the 1056 is a surprisingly pleasant consolation prize.  If WG were still supporting the game I'd try and make a case for another aircraft from around this time that the Swiss bought - the Venom - but with another interloper already carrying that title I doubt that Persha would have entertained the idea.

 

Have only flown the Beau 5 once, alongside another good team-operator who had already specialised theirs.  Was absolutely delighted - I acknowledge that we were top tier but were up against human-flown standard Beau and a Ki45, yet our aircraft acquitted themselves very well indeed.

The Beau V was the only one, as far as I know, to have the 4 mg turret. I suggest it makes some sense to have the tech tree Beau turret removed for something more historically accurate.

Zdaję sobie sprawę, że wiele osób nie lubi tego samolotu - kwestia jego zdobycia - uważają, że jest to niezbyt dobry samolot, ale polatałem nim trochę. Oglądałem kilkukrotnie powtórki z gier i widzę, że pomimo tego iż nie posiada on bomb ani rakiet, jednak ma coś ważnego i niedocenianego........ TYLNEGO STRZELCA, który robi robotę strzelając DO PRZODU. Widziałem parę razy, że to ON dokończał przeciwnika a nie moje działka z przodu. Myślę, że to był fajny pomysł ze strony WG – wiem, że wiele hejtów dostanę, ale świetnie to wymyślili.

 

 

I realize a lot of people don't like this plane - the question of getting it - they think it's not a very good plane, but I flew it a bit. I've watched game replays several times and I can see that despite the fact that he doesn't have bombs or rockets, he has something important and underappreciated ........ REAR SHOOTER who does the job of shooting FORWARD. I saw several times that it was HE who was finishing the opponent, not my cannons in the front. I think it was a nice idea from WG - I know I'll get a lot of hate, but they made it up brilliantly.

 

 

LOOKE at reare gunner. He make so GOOD worke. One of the best of all reare gunners on 5 tier.

Very good plane, a real fighter. Rarely seen in battles, players do not know how to appreciate. "Beaufighter" does not stand next to him.

The rear gunner on this plane is CRAZY - he blows like a furious Bruce Lee.

@117_Frantiszek_997 don't see why you'd be at risk of hate, while the turret 'may' not be as powerful on the regular Beau it still can be very useful with it's forward firing and back when I was going through it that turret certainly killed planes in front of me, and more importantly, ones to the side of the when I was being picked on by lights and MRs.  If the turret is more powerful on the 5 then this trick would become even more powerful.
