I am guessing the 'DR' stands for 'Dien Rozhdenya', meaning birthday; it would be therefore not a type of game, but a date given (i.e. new plane for b-day, as used to be the case with e.g. IL-1). No particulars given, but it's said there is work being done. Birthday for WoWP is in November.

I think it would be more appropriate if it stood for "Disaster Recovery".

WoWP v1 was released on 13th November, 2013 after considerable delays (in hindsight, that looks suggestive).  WoWP v2 was released, IIRC, on 14th October 2017.

Here's a bet.  The "definitely worth it" will be a simple, no extra development required, mission marathon that's both frustrating to complete and boring.  Let's hope I lose my bet.

I have some days where 3 TIMES IN A ROW I get a black screen which just doesn't change as I enter a battle.  This makes it pretty annoying to play with the boys from the clan as I either miss out on half the battle in restart times, or I am sent back to the hangar...

Still I continue to play this game in the hopes that a new event will take place or that a plane I really want, such as the P-82, appears in the shop so I can buy it and kill some time specialising it.

There are persistent graphic glitches for some of the Win10 users. 99% problems you described are solved if you run the game in Win7 compatibility.

connection problems abound in this game 

maybe  an overhaul to win 10 would be the thing to do 

for the game  ps i play in  win 7 mode too  but still have missing ground targets  zommbied planes
