I am currently trying to train a few pilots by hopping them into all my premiums to maximise training on them.

This is leaving a lot of my planes empty and many pilots benched in the barracks.

So my question is:

How many pilots do you have and how many SP have you got them up to?

Most of my in use pilots are at 6 to 7 SP with one or two at 8 SP. The remainder are on +1 unassigned sat in the barracks playing cards.

6x high skilled Yanks (6 to 8 SP)

6x in the barracks (1 - 2 SP)

8x high skilled Brits

9x low skilled Brits in barracks

8x High skilled Soviets

3x low skilled in barracks

10x high skilled Germans

4x sat in barracks doing nothing

4x Nippon High skillers

2x sat in barracks

1x Frog high skilled

1x in barracks

2x Chinese never used.

That's 64 pilots in all!!

Oh! I also have gunners but forget those!

One pilot per each tech-tree plane.

All the premium planes are empty and serve for training.

More than 100, probably less than 200, but who knows. Very few of them have 10 points, maybe 3-4, but most of them have 5-6 points.

I am not different in philosophy as zen_monk_ but I do got some pilots in crates, so there are extra few of them in the barracks on stand-by.

Six points is generally good goal as it give 3 skills.

207 pilots in 210 planes ... max is 9 sp. Average is 5 to 7 I guess. Low tiers have even less sp, not really needed there.

And 18 in the barracks. Not a clue how I managed that ...

178 planes, all with their own crew plus a couple of pilots and gunners in the barracks sitting idle. Personally I cant be bothered moving them about although it's probably beneficial to new players with lower resources available.

Most of the lads are from 4sp to 6/7sp. I may have half a dozen nearer 10, probably the La11 pilot is highest trained.

Similar to zen_monk_ here, except the special pilots like Dunkirk pilots (Spit Ia and 109 E-3), as they have skills that work only with a particular plane. All other pilots for premium planes were relieved of duty, as they usually came with 1 skill point, and that I can get with free xp just as easily. It's one of the reasons I tend to fly premium planes most, as the silver ones are already researched and specced, plus the extra experience and silver obtainable with premium planes. The exception is, of course, the dratted tier 4 for daily missions (and even though I have t3 premiums too, I only fly a few of those occassionaly, for the especially tedious dailies in period 1). Still makes for around 200 crew members in my case, and tons of unused bunk beds in barracks (as I went through several pilot purges, last one being sacking anyone with less than 3 points).

I've got 1 pilot with 11 point something about 25 with 5-9 points. One pilot per plane and many premium planes without pilot. I've thinned out the skilled pilots by bringing the UK tech tree at T8 completely. So I was glad about that 2 offers with two planes from England and Germany. Although all in all they are not convincing after a while and will fly other machines one day.  I put an 8 skill point pilot back in the Spitfire I and have really fun with.

297 planes, way more pilots than I need, but the most experienced has 11 points.  It takes years of playing at a fairly regular rate to get 14, 15 or 16 skill points.

As a matter of fact, it can take a week of 4-6 hours a day to take a pilot from 14 to 15 (which is hard-cap, btw) skill points ;) Just sayin' :)

For that last one it takes breaking into WG Mainframe and tweaking the game.

I aim my comments to relate to the average player, not the obsessive. :)

"Difficult in training, easy in battle" -Suvorov.Pilots are trained slowly but skillfully from 5-6 technical level.I believe that at level 8 pilots must have at least 10 skills.

This is not possible, unless you're expressing a wish. One level of pilot equals one skill point, and skills cost at least 1 point - maths. :)

I think you are referring to skill points and for Tier 8 pilots to have a minimum of 10 skill points seems like a pretty good goal.

Remind me to not fly at Tier 8 any time you are online.
