Just spent 20 excruciating seconds in a mustang vii, behind an A6M2 air-defense bot, trying all sorts of leads, hearing the hits, but shooting paper bullets and not managing to get more than 50% of its hitpoints...

The 6 .50 cals should do a bit more than that?

At end of game I get 2,700 points damage to airplanes... and 2 shot down... I suck as a pilot, but that much?

This is a known bug, the last defense bot needed for the flip sometimes become immortal. It helps to change the target to something else, ground target for a split second and then back to that last bot.

And if you want to permanently enjoy that experience go fly F7U, US tier 10. It's permanent fixture are broken guns, so for it everything in the game has the properties of that last ADA.

I don't think it's limited to the last ADA.

Known  issue. Possibly caused by net comms issue and the aircraft hitbox not being where you think it is.

If there is something else to kill in the sector switch targets and go kill that. If not, break and run.

Agreed, this -50% damage bug occurs on all kinds of targets after the squall line has arrived. Not always, but frequently.

thanks. Kept hearing the hits, and also varied the aim just in case I was hearing phantom hits... 200 damage per second my [edited]...

Yes. The game client at your end thinks it is hitting. You will hear and see the bullet strikes.

However, the server side thinks the plane is somewhere else and is not registering those hits, therefore the damage info it sends back to you is limited to those few bullets that actually connect.

I have re-watched the recordings of a couple of battles where I had this and the enemy aircraft was far enough from where I was actually firing that the issue was clear. I was consistently firing somewhere else. (where my client was presenting the target at my end)
