Today's comedy moment; an attacking battle where I was the only player not in a bomber or GAA on my team.  Needless to say, the 5 players in fighters and a heavy on the enemy team simply ate the bomber formations and me too.

 

I suppose the several aces, a new record for base XP and the odd 40K+ game were a kind of karma.

So the Global Mission for Stage 1 

 

400,000 killing bombers and GA's. I'm on 330k+.

 

Do we just focus on killing enemy bombers and GA's or do the waves of bot bombers we have to kill also count or doesn't count?

It's global, so don't bother. All players activity count towards that goal. You alone wont change anything.

Unless something fairly dramatic happens in the next hour, I don't think the global mission will be achieved.

Only one thing was better , have more time for missions not only ( i cant remember exactly 2 hours ? ) Bugs was the same, laggs was the same some misson glitch was the same. Not possibility of end event by max  effort.....

sry but cant think otherwise... i go to complete gold only nextime + 500 is fine not noending stressing time, do max and end without additional reward ..... aghr.

 

Now depend of score. Comunity cannot reach goal  400 000, now we got 260. Ok, for first time it was too much, 260 is a little under of challenge ( mean it is weekend ), more players can play. 280 000 will be best in working days ( i know somebodo working still and somebody never ) but weekend is better for challenge. Next time, will be better check how many % is rising by hour , and invest , or noninvest time.

 

Overal i am greeting any event... its FINE so much, its feeling more people play warplanes on tiers 5,6 meeting 9 humans from15 on both sides, its fine too.

( lags, glitches, uncompletable missions, unbalanced teams, planes - are not problem for me , except some medal or badge missions , where 2 sec of freesing jumping is different  of completing mission - this hate so much, repeat missions thx some bugs... must play more a more times)  

 

btw THX for F5F WG, fine plane with 4 bombs, with top cofig it will be good plane

That was a toxic finish... I clicked into a battle with 6 minutes left on the clock. I had just finished the 2nd mission set for bombers and to complete the 3rd I need grade 2, pretty easy with a bomber. Dropped in a grade 1, not hard, battle ends and... no fokking container? So if I started and played a Crimson Dawn mission then why was I not given the reward for it?

 

Have you ever seen F1? If there is a qualifying session and a car crosses the start/finish line just before the session ends, that lap they just started is still counted even the session has ended seconds after they started that lap, not "sorry, time was up". Same is true in WoT for premium time and PR's etc. If you start a battle even seconds before the PR and premium time has run out, the battle still gets those buffs applied to it and I THOUGHT the same was true in WoWP for PR's etc so... ya, ok it's just one container but at the same time, ouch!

 

Note the times. Is this just a case of GFY and accept it or... is there a chance I have a case for a container compensation? Again, if I started the battle BEFORE the event ended, completed the battle and achieved the goals, don't I have a fair case for getting the reward?

...I also won some "special" crewmember with 3 points and some sort of bonus for a particular aircraft yesterday. Pretty sure it was a German gunner but for the life of me I can't find him in the barracks. When I glanced over this gunner yesterday it outlined something about being more efficient at such and such.... he is not in any of my aircraft and when I click on the gunner options for my aircraft he is not a featured option. It also said his bonus skill only works for that particular aircraft, I think it was a Stuka, which I don't actually have. I also checked the barracks but he's not there either. Any ideas? Is this a game glitch or I need to reset something? Very sadly I didn't take a screenshot after I opened the crate that rewarded that crewman.

Which planes did you prefer for Bomber Escort? I tried it with LFs and HFs but it depended too much of the team. When no one fights the red LFs behind the bombers I had to fight them with a HF while the bombers escapes and LFs are not so efficient for attacking bombers.

I prefer light fighters and my squad mate takes a heavy fighter. He attacks the bombers and GAAs, and I keep his back safe.

 

So, the real advice is, team up with someone and do some task sharing.

From my perspective - raw firepower counts, and it heavily depends on tier.

 

I decided that tier V is the easiest to get all missions done, so Beaufighter ans SE 100 were HF of choice. Mosquito also managed, I've seen Me 410 performing, but didn't try. Higher I also didn't try, as tier V is efficient enough to get missions done as fast as possible. Main trick was attacking bombers without much turning, there are usually some already damaged, and after that, depending on positioning - either attack and possibly kill some escorting planes and then turn back towards bombers, or turn, then attack escort and go to bombers. Efficient enough.

I didn't play them on escorting side, because some genius made mission in a way that it can't be achieved on escorting side. Thank you very much, WG, working as intended. This is where low maintenance costs of tier V come into play.

 

The only LF I'd consider at tier V is Bf 109E with its 3x20mm, but still it's a bit weak, as primary targets are fat, and fire back, so nope. Other candidate is 1101 at tier X, again because of firepower, yet it kind of lacks in attacking light fighters due to low maneuverability. On other tiers - bad luck draw and being bottom tier would be a waste of too much precious time to event try, while other classes can be more profitable.

 

Because of that, except HFs, I did only multirole mission to kill light or multirole fighters - Hawker Hurricane II and Yak-7 did the job. Fortunately - regardless of side I played. They have tremendous firepower, and players tend to ignore them, because in ordinary randoms they mostly suck (hardly anybody plays them, because they mostly suck, and they mostly suck, because hardly anybody plays them, good for those, who learned to play them).

 

GAA - tier X, because they are fastest and can reach target fast. Although no time to play IIRC 10 predicted battles to score 2nd mission.

For bombers - also tier X, for the same reason, but RB-17 appeared to be useful - altitude and mini carpet bombing allow to stay relatively safe and aim for Doolittle and other epics. Still same thing as with GAA - no time to try.

Looks like it. I just got home and played a battle before the 2nd phase starts (missed phase 1). Got a crate for 10.000 pp with the F5F ops orders.

I guess activating it is not a good idea as you can only do the missions in between event stages and phases (in normal conquest mode).

Is it only me that has the problem with not counting the frags for the missions on the current stage?

I will also contribute with my opinion. I was very pleased when there was news that there would be a new event and will be rescued missions such as escort bombers... After the first day of playing, I was frustrated with unsteady lags, unreceived rewards from the boxes (I click to open, the box disappears and nothing happened, or only the side prizes "fall out"). Unfortunately, all this leads to one thing, and that is that any new players (or old ones) will definitely not want to play such an unstable game (whether it is due to poor server performance or errors in the game code). And of course few people will be willing to buy something and thus to support the development of this game. The result is clear, the game will continue to stagnate more and more. And this is bad message to us - players, who like this game...

Can you write me how to play low tier bombers to do that? You keep staying high? or try on lower and try dive? I have only IV german from tree and i can buy V tier?

PS. Today WG change AA Guns. Now they shoot 1000-3500m and you can't deal free dmg to ground... before that you can go 3000m and drink coffe

Strategy depend on the type of bomber. But generally for precise bombing you can use this: Russian bombers are low level bombers - optimal high is between 600-1200 meters; Germany bombers are mid to high level, so fly at 1600-2400 metes; and the American bombers are high level bombers because carpet bombing (and for them you need high speed when you start bombing to hit many targets), use it at 2000-3000 and above. But for hitting targets repeatedly you need the pilot with some skill points and using some instruments.

And when you reloading don´t try catch enemy aircrafts (you could do it when you will be better at game). Go away from sector out of reach of defending ground guns and try to avoid enemy fighters. For return to the sector you need be precise in timing so when you are over the first target you have finished reloading some seconds sooner.

 

P.S.: I am sub average player so maybe some better player can advice something else.

 

Edit: The high speed over sector is good for all bombers - you will stay at enemy sector less time so you will lose less HPs. Fly to higher level over optimal when reloading (or approaching) target sector and use speed boost and dive when you are prepared.

 

Edit 2: At event I think you will be playing against higher tier all time with tier 4 aircrafts. You will be playing against tier 5 ground targets so it is more difficult to do some damage because the targets are tougher (in addition ground targets are tougher at bomber escort event than at normal battles). Maybe it will be better to try to get 3 chevrons at time when the event is not active and you could be top tier.

Thanks. Support helped my but sadly it turns out it's just a regular gunner with 3 skill points and there isn't a special crewmember featured in this event so.

 

Btw guys, I managed to bag an operation order for the F2F. Can I NOT activate this and just keep it for some other time? I'd rather focus on this rather fun Crimson Dawn missions and activate the F2F missions some time after this event ends.
