IIRC it was an event thing, not for sale. A commemorative plane for something.
Waiting on CheefCoach, he's WoWPedia.

No, it was a regular 1.X premium aircraft, nothing special.
Alpha was Me 210
Closed Beta was XP-77
Open Beta was Pegasus.
The XF4F-3 have low fire power and relativ bad menouvreabilty. The speed is good but not good enough to disengage from enemies bevor they kill you. Maybe uin specialist with full calibrated equipment, but until specialist it is a long hard way.

Thats somehow totally contrary to their description

I got this plane in 1.x.
It was a laughing joke - to say the least - back then.
Picking it while in a flight, usually meant the other flight-member suddenly had to leave in a hurry because reasons...
Rediscovered it more or less by accident when I came back to 2.x, and played some battles with it.
It seems to be more 'suitable' for 2.x gameplay/mechanics. At least to me - I've configured it for one thing, and one thing alone: speed.
38 wins, 14 losses.
Average score around 7800pp/battle, - not even close to 109B, 110B, I-17 and similar, but still a decent plane IMHO. And reasonably priced also.
Can't carry, but at least make an impact, sometimes.

Through the API.
I've programmed a small 'tool': Enter a handle/nickname, then the data/stats are pulled from the API and finally displayed, - similar to the old warplanes.today site (if you remember that), but much more simple ofc.
My stats for tier IV:
B.S. = total battlescore (or total pp).
Avg.B.S. = average pp per battle.
...the rest should be self-explaining.

Hey, that's nice ; the XF4F-3 comes with a free 3% speed skin.
Bought the package on the CIS server. My EU plane (from a crate long ago ?) does not have that.
I also went for speed this time, nice to be able to outrun those pesky Bristols and I-17's ...

It´s slower, less maneuverable, has less firepower, less climb abilty and lower operational altitude than the Me109B.. so you tell me: would YOU pay for the XF4F-3?!?
The Curtiss 81A-1 I would actually pay for, but not this lump of inferior pixels..

Lolz.. to each his own I guess - enjoy mate!
I don´t quite see how I could avoid a Me109 swooping down on me when I have zero advantage anywhere.. but you´re probably just better at this game than I since you can make it work.
What is the base cruise speed? Without any modifiers?

It can be made to be like this.
Bear in mind, it's a premium: accepts all your pilots

Where do you get those stats ??
I've also got XF4F and doing OK, average 3 kills per sortie. Like you say, not a carrier but it's a nice plane.
You can look up you WR in each plane, if you search for your name on this page...... https://clans.worldofwarplanes.eu/wowp/search/#wgsearch&search=GonerNL&type=accounts&limit=10&accounts-battle_type=default
Hopefully, you can see that page.

I noticed that I had it collecting dust in the hangar, never played.
Played a few battles with it, it's ok-ish, not great but does quite well. Faster than the Bristol 146, lots of HP, 240 i think before mods, the 109 and 146 only have 160.
I'll spec it, with speed build and compare it with the other T4 LF's.

Thank you for your reply Zen_Monk..
Since the Airspeed number is a combination of cruise/boost/dive speed, it doesn´t tell me whether I can set it up to the point where I can "out-cruise" the Me109 (un-specialized). Anyone swooping down on me will have the initial advantage, but if I see him coming and I´m able to dodge.. I do have the chance to turn the tables on the "swooper" IF the XF4F-3 has faster cruise - assuming we both have the same boost-time available and that the XF4F-3 maintain speed as well as other Yank fighters. Although this one has 4 MG and the Curtiss 81A-1 only has 2, I would still prefer two centrally mounted HMG´s rather than 2 light centrally and two HMG´s in the wings - the damage that actually "arrive" at my target should be higher with the 81A-1.
Damn - lol.. now I´m actually tempted to buy the freakin´ plane just to try whether I can "wield" it properly!
