Maybe this might help, my Kozhedub made intentionaly in playing for that medal, posted previously but removed for being ridiculed for otherwise non-impressive score.
But that was the point: I played this mega-cowardly, focused only on staying alive and full health at the time of squall line. Only then I went full-on. And it served me well, made a Kozhedub in second opportune game.

It is not "flying in a circle for 7 minutes" but being very cautious, acting only to keep the battle last into the squall line, planing for that final phase, and then point.
But hey, you don't want to implement tactics for the specific task, don't want to pay to skip, haven't made the medal your way... ok, you're out.

There are 2 solutions:
1. You play and maybe Kozhedub will be given to you (low chances but I've had 2 yesterday),
2. You play and wait for the 5 sector map (without factories). I did mine on the map with central military base and 4 garrisons. You do everything to prolong the battle to squall line, not capping, shooting outside sectors etc. When the squall line is there pick 5 easiest targets (bombers, gaa's, mulitroles), avoid crowded areas and collect your medal.
Last tactic may result in loosing a few battles because you do not have the control over the whole map and need to fly like a total noob...
Pick also a good plane that is not a pure dogfighting machine and has altitude and speed to reach other sectors quickly - Horten is perfect for that.

I should point out that, because I have no need to do so, I haven't resorted to trying to manipulate the game - that's not a pejorative comment since if the WoWP team makes such a difficult medal a stage in a mission I see no reason why people shouldn't try to increase their chances of getting it - and therefore my experience yesterday is based on playing "properly".
That said, the WoWP team shouldn't encourage bad play.

Good God man! Just play to the damned mission as shown by Zen and further outlined by prawie.

Because you have no need to do so? Yes you do, it's called a limited time frame in which to complete these missions and 47 failhard attempts later lol. I actually tip my hat to you at this point for suffering the bones of half a centaury of failed mission battle attempts lol, but then I remember it's you and it makes me smile.
Still, I'd like to see everyone get what they want to get from this game so I hope you lose your stubborn attitude and just a for a few battles, play to the mission as Zen suggested, ignoring all other urges and stuff you'd normally look to do. I completed that days ago, also finished the Japanese missions yesterday and did so while not actually playing insane amounts of battles. I was working, doing family things, cutting up trees out the garden with a chainsaw, talking shhh on discord with the lads, typing away to guys in clanchat, SOMETIMES I managed a few battles. Point being there's really no need to drag the backside out of that mission.
Also, and sadly I can't recall what player said this comment, but their advice to try for this mission early morning or late evening actually was great advice for the obvious reason that there are far fewer players online and battles with mostly bots are just far more predictable and manageable, less rofl stomps basically.

After 53 battles, I achieved the Kozhedub. Unfortunately, that was at tier 10 (second game and if a bot hadn't stolen a kill, then it would have been first game). I'm afraid this medal is rather easier to obtain at high tiers than low to middle tiers, if for no other reason than you can get to sectors much more quickly. The higher proportion of bots may mean more battles that last until the squall line too.
In my view this is a rotten requirement for newer players and I hope it's not used as a mission stage again.

Thanks WG staff for these 2 new pilots, I've managed to got Akira and Vasily as well. I'm not saying the grinds for them weren't brutal and unnecessary at certain missions, but it is what it is. I take it as a sign of development, and maybe as an attempt to balance out the tier 6 meta.
I'm hoping for other special pilot(s) like these, my recommendation being a Tuskegee airman who can give +10% DPS on the planes of the American light fighter line, specialising in the P-51H maybe.
Looking forward to March, when we should see some new tech-tree aircrafts, first time after two years. Japanese high-tier heavies would be the best.

I got that Kozhedub early this morning at point i didnt believed that i will get it before the event is over.
Last days it was always that one kill was missing, 20 seconds more before match ends or all red planes miles away from me in my slow plane.
Glad that thing is done.
Best luck to you all who still need to accomplish stages for the rewarded pilots.

Is there going to be a marathon to get a pilot for the other nations too?
Edit- never mind, a post about a new update featuring 3 new pilots for the other nations just appeared a short while ago lol.
