I prefer the fast firing guns,
It's easy to finish a target off if there is just 1 tent for an example.
Also it's easier to shoot down a plane that's low enough with the faster firing guns.
But go for it if you prefer the bigger guns it's all personal taste.

I assume the final set of guns is supposed to be a comprise between what the two previous sets of guns offer so are supposed to be an overall improvement getting the best of both rather than the worst of both but I could be wrong.
Imo GAA's perform better with several guns operating on an area saturation basis compared to single shot precision striking. The stock set of 4X30 are low in range but high in RoF. The 50mm is long in reach and has massive single shot damage but is low in RoF and is still just one single shot at a time ill suited to tackling many of it's encountered ground targets which tend to consist of clusters of relatively weak buildings where area saturation, the ability to hit multiple targets at once is required, not precision single target striking at a slow pace. So with the final set of 4X30mm you are once again restored to having the ability to area saturate, hitting multiple targets at once, clustered groups of weak building simultaneously and at a significantly better range than the stock 4X30mm.
The downside is that the top 4X30mm have the same mediocre 90 r/m RoF as the 50mm and the range is not as long as the 50mm. This also means that the damage per shell of the top 30mm is a lot more than the stock 30mm with the higher RoF even though they both have a similar DPS. Personally for a GAA I would prefer the much higher RoF with less damage per shell for a similar DPS because it's just more forgiving via leaving very little gaps in space that are not filled with bullets. This means that when shooting an aerial target is required, there is a much greater likelihood for rinsing that target purely because the area being saturated with shells has so little space no occupied by bullets compared to that of a low RoF gun that may hit harder per shell but has lots of gaps in space for an enemy aircraft to fit between, an thus avoiding damage which isn't cool obviously. Overall, I guess the compromise between having 4 guns, long range, decent dps and acceptable RoF was met with the top guns.

Those guns can be used against both airborne and ground targets. There was a time when German attack planes were IL hunting planes, a some folks did like that playstyle. And it was before specialization, so people had choice. Also gun research were shared between planes of same nation, and those guns were same as those on Me 262.

I was skeptical myself and even played the plane with the stock guns mostly until specialization, but actually those top/last guns are very good. This plane with the top guns is better then the t10 Me 1102 B, which has higher rate short range guns like the stock on 1099, against armored targets. Those long range guns are far more efficient against the "hard" targets. Particularly in the events with bomber escort the t9 was doing more damage then the t10. So that's why. You will have the short range fast firing 30mm guns on t10 so you can just grind that if you want those guns.
