2nd place is the best and deserve to get the 1st place, my opinion.
It's a comic contest or cooking contest ?
Even the 1st place is a nice and fine work with some food, there is no story...it's just strange for a comic...
I can get it if the contest was "build an aircraft with everything you want" use paper, food, anything else, not the case.

I agree 100% with argal, 1st and 2nd place should be switch. IMO 1st is very cool unusual idea, but unused potential and as consequence bringing zero story.

Cheers and grats to the winners !!
the first price winning work made me laugh for a nice while !! great idea !!

and here come the whiners....i miss a comic about "building an aircraft" as it we asked to make ....
not a single one of those shown in forum tell the story of building and constructing an aircraft imo. the only one that really deals small bit with that topic is 2nd price winner !
i really appreciate all the effords the paticipants tokk to do those artworks ! and all of them are great - really great !
but the topic was missed . so sorry WG but this time you didnt do such a great job as judges...
now start to throw your stones on me ....... J E H O V A !!!

Well done Pixyl...2 grt holiday comps and each very different...grats to Elnor for a very different and inventive take on the theme.
I'm not going to get into second guessing the judges by naming my favourite, I don't think that's appropriate. (He came 5th though). Lol

This was nice competition, and I am more than happy with the reward! Thank you very much!
I didn't want to comment on works earlier, and I won't tell my fav among finalists or suggest "my" rankings, but I have to mention some of them.
Mastrapop, Jimac, chicken911, syluvia works look stunning, and in terms of both representation and story I really like argal's and kauboun's work.
And to kauboun - why did you shoot him down? :0) He was so crying happy that he finally got a plane. That's just cruel :0)
There were more entries that made me laugh like hell, but I guess they didn't use their own material or didn't fulfill some other criteria. But it was fun looking and reading all that stuff.

Just wanted to say, mastrapop's entry is basically a copy from one very famous Italian comic called "Alan Ford". I know because I have read most of them, also the episode from which mastrapop has used. He cleared up a picture a little, removed original text, and changed some things, but that is it.
If anyone is interested, pilot in the plane (his character) is called Grunf, he always has some crazy inventions which explode, or creates cars/planes/rockets which usually fall apart in use (as you can see from pages which mastrapop has copied).

A short update from me, and then a few posts I wanted to quickly touch on...
Firstly, mails to all contest winners have been sent out, so please check the email address associated with your Wargaming account (bearing in mind that you may also need to check your Junk/Spam folders, in case it's been filtered out!).
Thank you to everyone that has replied already - I'll send a quick confirmation to each of you next week (so that you can be sure I received your information correctly), as I regrettably didn't have the chance to do so today. >.<
Lastly, for those that have requested a translated version of the mail, these will also be sent early next week.
And remember... the sooner I get all the replies, the sooner we'll be able to start shipping out the goodies!
I know you've also PM'ed me about this, Dejwid40, but I thought I should also perhaps respond here, in case any others might have similar requests.
As originally mentioned, the full full list of results will not be posted publicly, as it's quite possible that some of the entrants might not necessarily appreciate being included if their submissions had not fared so well overall.
Likewise with the list of disqualified entries... although if anyone is concerned that their entry may have been disqualified and would like to check into this, I am obviously very willing to answer such queries via direct PM.
Heh, I'm afraid that Closed Beta keys were actually one of the few prizes or rewards not on offer in this End of Year Contest!
It's great to see that one of our Moderators maaay possibly have been kind enough to contact you privately regarding your request, however.
Please don't request Closed Beta access keys in this topic... it's really great to see such enthusiasm towards joining in testing the game, but this thread really isn't the best place to be voicing it.
Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention, SuperPuding.
I will ensure that the situation is followed up within the team, and any necessary action taken, once I'm back in the office again on Tuesday.

Congratz to winners, must agree with argal_ and Phobya tho, less effort and skill got first place. Kinda different but still.
Nindza's entry was great, had imagination, skill and effort. ChiCkEn911's entry is also great (ALOT of skill there) as well as Jimac. Any of these could have won first place and deserved to be in the top3.
